guddler
yeh my thoughts exactly,i want to switch to braid on my syndicate water and i want to protect the fish from any possibility of harm by using braid, the lake rules also state 3ft of tubing i think i need to get hold of some wire and push it through first then attach the braid
carpoholic
The Gardner threader will work with tubing but not at 3 ft as its too short. All you can do is to get some stiff mono or wire and attach the braid to one end and pull the Mono/wire through.
neilscatchin
A diamond eye pole elastic threader costs a couple of quid but invaluable for threading any length of tubing.
guddler
thanks for the replys guys,i knew that there must be an easier way ive never used braid before so its all a bit of a learning curve,as its thinner than mono, guessing where to leave off the backing and put on the braids gonna be fun
salokcinnodrog
thanks for the replys guys,i knew that there must be an easier way ive never used braid before so its all a bit of a learning curve,as its thinner than mono, guessing where to leave off the backing and put on the braids gonna be fun Put what you need onto one spool first then fill to the brim with Backing. Then Transfer to the 2nd spool. Whole lot easier if your reels have a spare spool supplied If you don't then get the backing for as many spools as possible done first. Incidentally Ordinary String is a Good Backing
guddler
yah good plan, i was told to be carefull on how close i load it to the lip of the spool as braid tends to tangle a lot more. how did the fishing go? was it too windy? salokcinnodrog
LOL All good plans come to naught! Had to stay in to deal with a problem caused by the Ex. Have now got the kids tomorrow and Fishing Monday, and Wednesday and Thursday (I hope)
guddler
it could have been worse, you could have had the time to spare but with 40mph winds and rain you might have been tying yourself to a tree
salokcinnodrog
I think I would have preferred that than having to deal with what is going on!
