welder Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 glorified duck pond,, not heard anything about it re opening though,,seems daft to keep it shut Jason, I have to agree about the duckpond thing. As I understand it, it's now owned by a private individual who allows family and friends to fish it. To be honest, they are welcome to it. Ian Quote
penker Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 Ian, stunning looking lake though, Dont you think? Quote
welder Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 Ian, stunning looking lake though, Dont you think? Joe, I agree that it's a pretty place to be, I would describe it as a pool rather than a lake. It started life as an irrigation pool serving a potato/vegetable farm and became a small fishery when commerce overtook farming. I'm aware that you had an affinity with the place but life goes on, mate. Ian Quote
penker Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 I really did enjoy fishing there, had some beautiful fish from there and ed the owner was a smashing man. The only downside were the Bivvy crawling rats the size of cats that came out at night... I still have nightmares about them to this day...LITERALLY Quote
jasoncoggins Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 It's a pretty little pool, wouldn't say stunning though, not when compared to pine pool or willesly, have walked around it for a mooch a couple of times but never wet a line, however a lot of people seem to really like the place Quote
