  1. I move all the time,no matter how much gear I've got spread out,I pack it all up,trundle over to another swim,9/10 times it works and saves a blank
  2. I dump the lead, there's pockets of weed that the fish swim towards and through, U can get em out with steady pressure, just think its as you guys say, hook gauge
  3. I get ya,thinner gauge hook is like cheese wire, so size 4,5,6 is the way to go?
  4. I agree, just don't like the damage caused by the pulling force, gonna try larger hooks
  5. im slightly concerned, what's a "generous barb"?? Sure its the pressure exerted on the fishes mouth during the fight, trying to pull it away from snags and through weed? I use micro barb for ease of getting hook out
  6. no,someone else mate,I use 18lb mono n 3lb t/c rods,as for other people there aren't any I've see yet....
  7. Its making me not want to fish there, fish are imaculate and its a crying shame they are scared by hooks
  8. That's why I try not to use barbless, I think its the bullying that's causing the damage though,no way round it. Alternative is lose the fish which defeats the object of going!
  9. Hi everyone,I've been fishing a lake recently where you have to chuck it over 100yrds, when you get a take its normally a screamer! Trouble is because you have to bully the fish through weed and away from snags 90% of the fish have some kind of mouth damage, I've used barbless to see if this helps but I lose em or still get damage, any ideas???? I'm using a standard bottom bait rig, knotless knot with tubing on shank to an 18mm bait, size 8 hook. I'm feeling guilty about the damage because that's what I don't to happen just to land em,plus the state of the poor carps mouth.......
  10. Richard, found a stray mugga hook, the eye is very aggressively turned in(hadn't noticed before),question, what's the benefit of this as it looks too aggresive to flip and it narrows the gape quite alot, especially if the braid isn't stripped back, I mean as you would make a hair, but strip back enough for the hair only and tie knotless knot with coated, did that make sense??
  11. Or did it mean something? One of those great mysteries!! Ha ha
  12. Nothing meant by that cyborx mate
  13. right, standard knotless knot, exit towards point not back of hook, cast out,had a run, came off reeled in,boilie close to eye,not where I tied it,2 turns left on knot as rest slipped through hook eye gap
  14. EBay seller- ericsangling,sufix camo skin,brown or green £4.99
  15. I get mine off eBay,£3.99-£4.99, I use kameleon or sheath skin, supple but you don't want it too supple or defeats the object of coated
  16. I've always used it,ever since I bought my first spool off eBay, just refuse to pay for name and packaging, same for hooks, I found 25 hooks size 8 longshank inturned eye for £1.99. Think they were owner or prologic, cracking little hooks, half the price of ace or anyone else, they didn't come in fancy little box, just clear little bag, they do the job nicely
  17. I use suffix coated braids, cheap, quality,NEVER let me down, pointless paying silly money for Korda, you can get 3 spools of suffix kameleon for price of 1 n-trap
  18. Don't use muggas anymore,3 hooks where the braid has slipped through a gap in the eye
  19. What do you class as a spread of boilies? 100 baits,1kilo?
