  1. Thanks Nige i will have a look, I have been reading it doesnt have a timer for continuos photo bursts, Is this correct? or is there something you can buy so it takes a photo every x seconds...knowing what im like getting a fish to stay still it would be real useful! also regarding lighting at night, Are you using anything?
  2. Well I only went and blooming done it! Had the session of my life Thursday night. Arriving at the lake around 5pm Fishing before work the next day and managed 5 carp. A low 20, 25.6 dark scaly mirror, a 27.14 mirror and the biggest in the pond slate grey, down in weight at 37.4lb. I caught it Friday morning and still can’t stop looking at it! Spent the whole of last year about 20/30 nights for 12 carp. A switch of tactics for this season and in 6 (1st one being a blank) sessions I have had 9 carp 5 being over 20lb (didn’t get anything over 18 last year). Absolutely mental it’s all come good. Typically it was only last week on here I was asking about getti a decent camera...
  3. looking to bite the built and buy a proper camera so looking for suggestions. Something that will automatically take the photos and have a front facing screen would be great... Budget.... £500 max but if i can go cheaper i will because im tight!
  4. So have fished this lake a bit as a day ticket water as recently as the beast from the east. Im a bit gutted its becoming a club ticket as i mainly go there when my water is spawning or rammed. The lake itself it lovely, The fish in there are in great condition. Its owned by a match angler so theres loads of F1's and smaller carp in there however there are a few chunks in there 30lb+, i have had a few 28lb. The fish are in great condition. I wont be getting a ticket as i pay £160 for CAPS and i still have target waters on there to finish however i did really consider it...and still am depending on my mood. I do think £250 is a bit steep. Never met the woman, But i have met the owner and the baliff "lofty" who is a nice enough bloke.
  5. Theres a few double in this lake, But i do live in Suffolk so im counting them as massive!
  6. 4 short nights and and 5 carp now, getting this lake pieced together. this session I had 2 17lb commons, lost 1 just before leaving. 2 9lb tench a few at 8lb and some smaller. About 7 or 8 fish landed in total from 8pm to 8am. Solid bags doing the damage.
  7. If your noticing this on stiff links "booms" then maybe upping your hook size. One of the lads on here mentioned it to me when i was having an issue with "being done" and that pretty much solved it. moving to a 6 from an 8 i believe.
  8. 14lb command and a 9lb tench last night. Thats 3 carp landed from 3 nights now, starting to get somewhere on this lake! P.S. Im not a big fan of Avid bag stems! made 6 solid bags up ready to go to discover the gape to pull the line through was practically closed. I had to rip the bags to open the gape so i could get my mainline through...just needs something really small to stop it from closing.
  9. Finally manage to get a 20lb out of my water, had this tight to a set of reeds that i later snapped up in with a fish ( i think in the dark i manage to cast behind a few reeds so my mistake). Also had an impressive 8lb tench that gave a good account for itself.
  10. I have the Free Spirit E class with 50mm butt rings and 3.25tc. Awesome rods. Dont think you can go wrong with Free Spirit.
  11. No pics but between midnight and 5AM i managed 4 tench and a carp (16-18lb).....Safe to say im absolutely shattered at work today!
  12. Thanks lads will have a look. The stuff im using at the moment was only cheap and the amount of frapping it does is insane!
  13. Any recommendations? I notice the Korda stuff is like £40 whilst Whiplash is only £28? looking to fill the spool with it.
  14. 22.7lb was the best of three from a 72 hour session that turned into 24 hours due to the snow and running out of gas...packing up, then finding my spare canister (god damn it). Got to christen the new fs class e, comfortably hitting 20 wraps now so was loads easier!
  15. It’s 19 odd wraps again. I just to be able to try the set up out really, there will be a mid water spot so maybe I should be looking to use the helicopter set up there instead. I always fish tight lines. Just can’t get semi slack sitting right and also I get paranoid that I’m missing out
  16. Hi Guys, So this weekend on the lake i will be fishing i can use 3 rods, And i feel like adding the helipcopter rig to my armoury. So i will be fishing to an island which is about 2 ft deep, I have fished pop ups to it before and have been out fished by bottom/balanced baits SO, im going to use a Helipcopter set up with a bottom bait.....What hook lenghs would people suggest for this (little to no weed or silt). Im kinda thinking i dont want my rig drapping over the lead on the cast as i might get tangles, I also dont want my rig to be fair away from the lead as distance from the island is key. THANKS ALL!
  17. Hii all, So having spent the weekend chucking 19 wraps on 2.5tc rods i have decided i need some new rods for the job. So whilst i was making 19wraps, It sometimes took a few casts, it wasnt the most accurate and adding a small PVA bag made it....a bit of a mere. I have a Free Spirit CTX spod/marker and that was making 19 wraps with great accuracy.....which is a waste of time if my rods are not accurate. So i have been looking at the free spirit range, And to be honest im a bit lost. Whilst i love the orange and look of the CTX rods, I have noticed they are at the lowest price point, The E and the Lite S are a little bit more expensive....So better?? I dont intend on buying rods very often so they need to last. Anyway, Anyone using free spirit rods recommend them? whilst ideally i would like to try them out, Its hard to find a shop with them all in and i think waiting for a session with Mark might take an age. Also TC.....I will be keeping my Greys prodigy 2.5tc rods as they are lovely (in my opinion) should i be looking at 3.25 or 3.5 with 50mm butt rings, These rods may need to do some bag work...... Obviously out of all this im aware my technique can be improved and obviously but casting further i am working on it, but higher TC rods will make fishing at range a whole lot more comfortable at the moment!
  18. Theres a few lovely fish mate. I had a 28lb zip out in the summer and it was probably the nicest fish i have caught.
  19. I have nothing to hide mate Was at lakelands, in hatfield pev. Day ticket water that used to be a syndicate. Match man owns it so his put a lot of smaller carp and F1's in there that can be a pain but theres some really nice 20's and a few 30's in there as well. A really nice fishery but its £25 a night and being a day ticket you get a few "bad anglers" on there. Worth a visit...Dont think it would be fun in the summer at the weekend!
  20. Well I had a 2 night session booked for my current target lake, would have been my longest session on there.... so typically it’s closed for otter fencing. Theres a bit of a gem round the corner from there on a day ticket so I spent my 2 nights there, it became quickly apparent that bite time was from 4pm onwards with the day light hours being a waste of time. I fished 19 wraps to an island in 2.5tc Rods my arms were knackered by the end but it was well worth it. 6 fish including this 29lb below, considering it was freezeing at night, bright sky’s during the day, I was chuffed just to catch. A 29lb,15lb 2 about 8l and 2 that probably didn’t go 10lb combined! Happy days
  21. Its all about the car spares for me! Leads, Spods, Sweetcorn, Some shelf life boilies, random end tackle, All hiding in with the spare wheel. saying that i have about 10 leads with me, mixture of sizes and shapes.
  22. Cheers Yonny. I did have a rig out there with a size 6 but typically that rod remained silent all night. I still use 8's for most of my fishing so jumping to 6 was quite a jump, let alone 4's!
  23. So, Went full Korda last night. I recently brought my dad all the gear they use for the ronnie rigs they were using (at his request), And because im a good son...and i knew he would ask anyway i tied a ton up for him. Stole a few for myself as well to have a little go. Done the night on a bit of a runs water, Had 2 bites 1 fish i guess was about 6 and maybe one a scraper double by the looks of it.....but i bumped them both off under the rod tip. So i dont usually lose many fish at all, and without landing one of these i couldnt tell where the hook hold was (both bites were at night) so im a bit confused. I was using about 7" of boom onto a size 6 (i know the korda vids were using bigger hooks, but for the stamp of fish i didnt really think it neccessary. I didnt drop the lead otherwise this place would cost a fortune! so i was just wondering if thats a bit of a characteristic of a flurocarbon hooklink or if something else could have been wrong. Going to have to get back to that lake again and play about with longer hook links and bigger hooks..... 7" is surely long enought though....confused!
