  1. do you have them yourself? I read that the butt is really short so they dont fit in the standard 9ft bag so i thought 10ft bags would be just as bad?
  2. Anyone using the 9ft version and found a bag they fit in?
  3. Hi mate, Fished it a few times. You need to be a member of CAPS, Do 4 work parties or pay an extra £130. No 40's but plenty of 30's in there. Absolutly tons of fish in there, 10 - 18lb would be the average stamp i would say. Cast long for bites, cast short for bigger fish in my experience, they like bait and are not afraid of the spomb (had loads of runs whilst i have been spombing). The fish are always showing. Set up on them if u can.
  4. Cleverley Mere always looked really busy all the time from Bovi 2 (CAPS lake), If your interested in that lake have a look on Kordas site for Elliot's diarys. He was fishing there.
  5. Anyone recommend a pair? Is a £60 any better then a £10 pair? I don't care how they look, they just need to show me the fish!
  6. Cheers Pooter, I will go down the shop and have a play, I will likely stay with bait runners though, Im to clumsy to start messing around with drag on top of the spool!
  7. Ah Quick Drag. Whats the difference with Quick drag and baitrunners?
  8. Have exactly the same reels have exactly the same question!
  9. I have an adobe 2 man man. Its a decent bivvy. pretty big but i must say im pretty heavy handed so had damaged mine where the tent pegs go in. But had it 3 years, It hasnt leaked, Its solid enough and the over wrap is great for winter.
  10. I only use righ tubing over the hook to protect the fish in the net. I have had a few instances where somehow the hook eye gets tangled in the net meaning i cant lift the fish to have to unhook it in the water.....which is sometimes easier said then done.
  11. Hey All, Anyone recommend a cheap set of waders? Never really needed them before, Need them on this venue just so i can get out from under the trees for casting, will only be going up to my knees and to be honest i dont think i will be fishing any lakes in the future that will really require them. It will be a case of putting them on, Casting, Taking them off so i dont really want to spend much on them. Any recommendations?
  12. Love Margin Fishing, Always always have a rod in the edge. My first thirty came no more then a foot of the bank in 2ft of water fishing up againt 1 lonely bullrush. Im fishing a lake which is completely featureless in the margins, so i have been casting or if possible dropping a rig a few feet off the bank in the next swim, No one ever tends to fish an open space in front of the swim left or right of them (from what i have seen anyone) but it has done me very well.
  13. This Highwoods by any chance?
  14. Cheers all. i thought as much!
  15. How are people fishing their running leads? On the mainline or are people opting for lead core?
  16. Thanks for all the feedback guys i will have a good look around at some that youve mentioned!
  17. The one good thing the fishing brands have is there pocket placements tends be to better (more useful). I have an old army jacket which had no pockets so that was a massive pain in the backside! This doesnt look to bad at first glance. http://www.sportsdirect.com/karrimor-3-in-1-jacket-mens-443532?colcode=44353292
  18. Anyone recommend one? Was looking at the trakker multicore last night and made me think i should buy some decent winter gear, previous years have involved a lot of clothing and a not very water proof jacket!
  19. would never have thought that! thanks pal.
  20. I will have a look pal.
  21. not really. I could have changed the line or had a shockleader on and still had a crack off.
  22. Yeah im looking to stick with mono. Suprised by 8-10LB line. I would have thought more because of teh pressure it was under?
  23. nope no leader. Never needed too. its been fine for about 3 years and i spod alot, to be fair i have been running the risk for a while due to the age and the lack of line i had left on the spool so its my own fault i lost it.
  24. Hello, Im after some line for a large spomb. Any recommendations as to what line/15LB? previously i was just using the line off a reel i got for free, Sod noses the strength of it, but its finally running low on the spool and i got my first crack off so time for a change. Thanks all.
