Exclusive carp.com discount code
Reedy11 replied to Reedy11's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
Thanks for flagging, for now we only available in the U.K. due to bots slowing the site down from China and US, we were planning to activate France next, the only issue I’m working out is the cost of delivery to europe. Hooks I can get to you for around £2, everything else eg boilies would cost about £15. If you saw delivery costs like this would it put you off ordering? Thanks -

Yes mate even barbless are great hook hold, I had a 32lb common out on my first session using them which is my U.K. PB, couldn’t believe it! They’ve had big cats out too in testing which I was buzzing to hear about. I use them myself now on all venues & recommend them to everyone -

Great news thanks mate, you deffo won’t regret it! The more support we can get, the more we can grow our range, we’re looking at a range of hooklink material next! -
I’ve been reflecting and I wanted to thank my carp.com friends for all support in my fishing journey so far. Ive come here on many occasions not understanding something and left with a wealth of information. You guys are one of the reasons that I became inspired to set up my own fishing tackle business. I’m so proud to say that hookedgear.co.uk is doing well and as a thank you for all your support I wanted to offer you guys a 15% discount code that isn’t anywhere else online - please use Tightlines15 at checkout for 15% off your orders! I honestly highly recommend our hooked gear stealth hooks. They have landed catfish and big carp already, they are super sharp and cheaper than the big brands charge, with free delivery always!

This is the kind of rig I mean, helicopter with long boom section I believe it does have a pop up on

Hey everyone, long time no post! I’m going to France in September to fish a lake called Val D’or. I’ve heard it’s clay with patches of silt and gravel but also that there’s weedy areas so a bit of a mixed bag. For the last few years I’ve had quite a lot of success using inline leads catching me my PB 34lb in a gravel pit. Ive recently started experimenting with new setups using helicopter rigs and have had a bit of success. Fishing a new water I’m looking for some advise on your experiences using helicopter rigs, I was conisderIng Korda Kable chod leader with heli set up, tied boom section and a stiff hinged rig with a bottom bait/pop up snowman set up. Are there any situations where this wouldn’t work or have you got any other suggestions? Thanks Jason

Thanks I'll definitely check those out this eve, also heard fox camo is good too if anyone's used that before?

Hey, So I'm off to France again in September - lucky me!! I've not fished this lake before but I know it has a sand bottom, I currently use gardener gt80 but it's time to replace it anyway, as it's green it may not be the best colour anyway, I've been recommended Korda subline - I'm not a massive Korda fan to be honest, but that's a story for a different day! What do you guys think about it? has anyone used it? Also is it on par with the GT80? Also one more question, am I ok to take of half my line and tie on the new line so I fill all 3 reels with just buying 2? does it affect the fishing in any way? Thanks Jason

They do a wide gape talon tip in barbed and barbless
-
Have you taken a look at gardener hooks? They have some nice wide gape hooks
-
Thanks mate makes sense maybe I did get quite a lot of bites then and ignored it because the rods didn't scream off, I did hit it a couple of times with no luck though, will keep an eye on the rod tip next time
-
I feel that it doing that all night with little bleeps will keep me up!
-
So I tried zigs last session with no luck but I'm going to stick with it! I found its hard to know exactly how far it is under the surface without a marker rod or a zig float, I chose not to use the float from this thread as the water is only about 4 ft deep (not sure exactly), one thing I found is because the line is so tight through the water the alarm even on low sensitivity bleeps a lot, not sure if it's liners or finicky takes, with zigs will you guys only hit it when it screams off?
-
Fair enough I've taken it off see how it goes
-
Guys quick question I have a zig out now what's your take on using a backlead for zigs?
-
Thanks for your advise guys so I'll going to give it a go Next weekend, ill show you some pics of the rigs and fish caught fingers crossed! It's so hard to not want to out atleast one rod on bottom bait, especially when it's a 2 rod lake lol. So the best conditions for zigs at night are full moon (as it is for most fishing) this weekend coming probably won't be a full moon so would you say not to put zigs out over night?
-
Haha dathegooner I used to use goo all the time have to get some more, it stains everything though that's the only issue with it Good shout I'll use the darker one-off it's a sunny day, I'm in the process of building up my collection of foam/zig bugs soon I'll have a box full of them from my experience I catch a lot more on the bottom at night I feel like the fish are the bottom more often than not at night, also my lake seems to go dead in the day and go crazy at night so it's just what I'm used to
-
I'll definitly try and commit to it! It will be hard to resist reeling them in, I'll swap both rods over to zigs during the first day and see how it goes. Will definitely post how it goes on here I'll also put some photos up of the rigs I use, I've got some nice zig bugs, grey ones and purple ones
-
I've got a few regular leads that I could take with me and use on a lead clip, I always use inline leads but I'll switch it over for the zigs. What i think I'll do as I'm getting there Friday evening is fish on the bottom overnight and get a zig rod set up to swap out with one of the bottom bait rods in the morning, fish that one at 1 foot under - You can only use 2 rods on my lake. I'll then just change the rig on the other rod and fish a zig with that one a bit deeper. I've got some of that Nash Gyro bug mix thats supposed to be good for fishing zigs so I'll just put some of that out as well
-
Same i had a long zig rig before and used it for a few hours with no luck, I had a piece of yellow foam and used my mates bug juice on it but reeled it in and stuck a bottom bait on it.
-
Fair enough so do you think the 12lb zig line I ordered will be no good for a weedless venue? @Carpmachine, I see so if I'm going to use zigs on my syndicate, just use a 3ft line attached to an inline lead rather than using a float?
-
Oh really? ok then it does say it's going to be quite warm next week, highs 18 over the weekend, do you still think that will be a bit cold in the day? I've been looking in to it a little bit and people say you can catch on zigs in the winter as well - I know it's probally a bit harder though! I ordered Ultima Zignature Floater and Zig Line Clear 100m 12lb - it's a flurocarbon coated line designed to be bouyant for zig fishing
-
Hey Haven't posted on here in a while but have fished quite a lot over the last couple of years, I've decided I want to give zigs another go - I had a go before but had no luck. I've bought some of the Nash zig floats, zig bugs and some proper zig line so I should be good tackle wise just wanted to see what you guys think about fishing with zigs this time of year? Next Friday I'm going out for 48 hours and fishing my syndicate, it's a 4 acre silt lake that averages around 4ft deep, so quite shallow. It's got some upper 20's and apparent 30 in it. What do you recommend it's looking overcast and quite warm in the day so should I fish the zigs maybe 1ft under the surface during the day then put bottom baits out for the night? Cheers, Jason
