gutted for ya,you can alway try again sunday. what was the bottom like? was it busy? did you find one bait worked better?

kryston merlin for me, with the merlin i use it with solid pva bags, bottom bait rigs and for pop-up rigs. i just like the extra movment with braid. it lies over every bottom because its so supple. ive use it for years and had my pb on it. ive never changed to the newer braids on the market because i find them stiff compered to merlin.

I fish that swim because i no ill catch fish lol. I might try fishing another peg sunday the ones infront of the toilet block but then again i might fish the island peg lol. might see you down there sunday all being well.

In my opinion its worth the extra effort. Has my catch rate improved? defently. i know this is a bold statment but id say mine has doubled just though sharpening my hooks.

most of the fish ive had there mouths have been ok, had some really clean looking commons. Im the same as you im always first there so as to get the island peg on the far side it always produces fish. I always get the same mate somone set up next to me then throw there rigs wherever. I might go down there for one last trip sunday with the weather the way it is it might keep some of the idiots away. i can only hope.

fox kuro hooks are pretty sharp out the packet,but i still run the file down them to make them'' hell thats sharp'' sharp. Just get into the habbit of doing it before you castout doesnt take 30 seconds. hope this helps.

hiya bud, ive spent all winter on there chasing so called 20s, the best ive had is a 14lb mirror. Had loads and loads of fish between 7lb and 12lb. biggest ive seen out was a 17lb common from the back pool. Its not the best place to fish but its on my door step some of the things ive seen happen down there have been shocking with fish care and disrespectful anglers. The place has seen better days, could do with new pegs all the way round, the amount of litter i pickup before i start fishing is a joke. Wouldnt mind but theres bins all round the pool and the water quality is really bad its stained my mainline a yellow colour. I wont be fishing it any more my self bud going onto poolhall this year to see what that throws up but what ive heard about that it doesnt seem to good,but will see for myself.

flying back lead tie it 2 foot up your mainline with some pva tape. its what i do if fish with my mainline stright though to my lead with a semi slack line works for me.
