  1. I have got a set of them, initially I brought just the one but I ended up buying 3 ! I am fishing in France at the moment, but I can measure 1 when I'm back home .
  2. I've not fished it for a few years but I've had a few out. I find that if it is busy the fish switch off. I done well on halibut pellets fished near to the island and the margins fish very well, but the island is snaggy in places so watch out. Last time i fished it I had some idiot casting from the otherside of the lake into the margin of the swim next to me, so watch out for that!!! Quite a few get caught on the top aswell so that's worth a try! The bailiff is a nice guy and will give you advice. If the specimen lake is busy the match lake is always worth a cast, good for a bend in the rod and there is quite a lot of mid doubles and 20,s which come out quite regularly.
  3. Thanks for your replies guys ! I've never tried the chod rig out until recently and the first time using it was successful, so it is definitely a rig I want to use more. I also like the anti tangle properties ! I know not everyone is a fan of the chod rig but It is a rig I will be trying out more often.
  4. Common of 20lb. I tied it up just using some ammnesia from my tackle box, just wondering what everyone else uses!
  5. Hi all, just wondering what line people are using to tie up chod rigs. I randomly used a chod rig for the first time a few weeks ago and had a nice comm
  6. Did u join cdaa mate? If so how you been getting on ?
  7. I've had nothing that big out of there! I've had carp and cats to low 20,s in there and loads of mid doubles
  8. What's your biggest out of there mate ? I've Been using premier baits boilies lately mate.
  9. Ok cheers mate.. I've always done well on boilies at charlies I don't think I've used pellet on there before, might give them a go next time
  10. Will you have to pre book to fish loggies do you know? I would imagine with only 18 swims there will be people queuing up to get on there!! I like charlies it just gets busy in summer! Not fished it since it's been taken over by the new owner apparently he has been doing the swims up and improving the place. I will be doing a few sessions on there this year... I wonder if he managed to sort out the rat problem there!
  11. I bet that will get busy ! Are you just joining cdaa this season jimmy or are you fishing anywhere else as well ?
  12. Yea they sold chilham a while ago and I heard rumours they where getting rid of more lakes or turning some into day ticket waters. I wonder how much they will charge for a season ticket on there in the new season ? I always fancied doing a few seasons on mid kent, they have some awesome looking waters!
  13. I was a member of cdaa a few year back. I was only a member for 1 season as I didn't get much time to fish there due to work. Fordwich is a lovely looking lake I only fished it a few times and that was in winter but would love to fish it again! The only problem is that it floods a fair bit in winter and they have the closed season on there and it does get very busy in the warmer months! Trenley and stour also look good but I don't think they have good too many carp in them so could be tricky! I not fished them myself. I'm still not sure where I'm am going to fish in the new season, what is going on with mid kent then ? Have they sold off some off their waters now?
  14. I've not heard of it mate. It sounds good though an has got to be worth a go surely!
  15. There's loads of waters like that round here to choose from. Next time your in a tackle shop grab a copy of freshwater informer , not sure if u get it already but it is basically a free magazine which has catch reports for a lot of day ticket waters around the south east and has a lot of adverts for different venues, so that could give you a good idea of some venues to choose from. Think you can view the magazine online aswell now.
  16. I'm near to you mate there is a lot of waters around canterbury and ashford way mate there is so many to choose from a mixture of day ticket and club waters.
  17. Chequer tree near ashford, kent. They got 2 small lakes there It's very easy to fish but just full of small stuff really I've not fished it for about 5 years but had carp up to 16lb in there.. Used to go there once in a while just to get a Bend in the rod after fishing harder venues.
  18. I've been thinking about changing my mainline for a while but haven't been able to decide on one as there is so many out there, but after reading this I think I'm going to give the pro-carp a go. Sounds good and it is also a good price, Thanks for posting this Nick !
  19. Think i saw it on a dvd might of been a korda one and they was rating the reverse snowman sayin they have had success on it. Not tried it myself yet tho!
  20. Hve you looked at maidstone victory angling club?
  21. Not fished it for about 5 years but have seen catch reports in local papers over the last year or 2. Quite a few small carp have been coming out and a few upper doubles! Cant help other than that tho im afraid. They have been re stocking it aswell. Your best bet is to pop to Dens tackle down the road he will have some info and he will have the balliffs number so you could give him a call!
  22. Thanks for your replies, it is not just braided mainlines its is ALL braid due to fish mouths being damaged, bit of a rubbish rule if you ask me as I dont beleive the damage is caused by braid hooklinks but more inexperience of other anglers!
