  1. Hi guys, I will be moving to potters bar, hertfordshire from surrey soon and was wondering if anyone could tell me of any waters that are up there. I have heard that Rib Valley and Dobb's Wier are good but any other suggestions would be apprieciated. Cheers.
  2. Great pics and an excellent write up,looks like a good place and some amazing fish too..well done guys
  3. unlucky mate, but thats the only downside to furnace lakes,it does get busy from what i understand you have to book in advance to get on plantation lake and it holds some lumps in there, but think the fish have wised up because it's over-fed. i did a recent 24 hour there and got talking to a few people and from what i can gather the one to get on is kiln lake. although the bailiff said that the pond is always a good one too.
  4. if you mean the one at furnace lakes mate,i would like to know too, never had any luck getting on that one
  5. hi guys...i need to find a night fishing venue for saturday into sunday, need to do a 24 hour stint. i'm in surrey but don't mind travelling to far otherwise i will go with my original plan and head off to furnace lakes,it's just that it gets packed there, plus, it's the bank holiday weekend and by the time i get there(mid afternoon cos i got to wait for a mate to finish work) i can imagine it will be very busy. so if you can recommend a quieter place that is secure, please do,cheers
  6. my mate and i fished the old lake with pellets and sweetcorn,we totally blanked with the sweetcorn did quite well with the pellets as hook bait, used marine halibut also with swimstim groundbait from the cage feeder. between us we caught 13 bream and 2 carp..no monsters but decent sizes. great place and wildlife keep an eye on the ducks and geese on the banks, they will try to nick ur bait when ur not looking
