  1. mgolightly said he was getting the hook turning back on its self, I was just suggesting it could be the knot slipping and causing it to turn on its self. Just something he could look at.
  2. If your getting a hook turn with the knotless, i would say check your knot . Try a piece of shrink tbe over the knot, or wrap the line over the turns once before going through the eye this holds the turns in place, if that makes sense.
  3. My advice would be talk to the owner about the carp and specimen lakes my opinion of the fella is he's a decent bloke.second time there with a few mates and both visits have been good. even arranged to fish later in the year when the crowds have gone. dont know why you didnt have any doubles as the place has a lot of them., but that is fishing for you. I did speak to people who had't had any bites for 24hrs.
  4. fished the carp lake and the specimen lake both producing a lot of runs. mystery lake is the target next time, seen some nice fish on the top all over 20 in my opinion.mate of mine had 2 two cats both in 30's .
  5. Visited the place last week, had carp to 27lb 10 oz , a few about 20lb lots about 12-15 lb. worth spending the week end . going again in november by appointment.
  6. Yes mate, on the list for the match and the north lake. hopefully next season. silver ticket does for now.
  7. I'm fishing the nuserey at the moment, but also fish the split, pump and horse shoe , bit of the river that runs at the back of the match.I only live 10mins away so spend a lot of time either walking the lakes or fishing them. Have been fishing south lake aswell thats fishing well at the moment, better than people are letting on, on the other forum.
  8. I would book a week in advance. like i said its very busy at the moment. I fish the other lakes but they are members only, one of which is next to sandy and apart from one day it was packed.being a day ticket water that is to be expected.I have a contour map but i'm having trouble putting it up. if you pm me with your email address i will send it to you.
  9. Just to let you know that over the weekend there were 2x30's -8x20's out all to maggot or maze.
  10. I fish the yateley complex alot, Done a few sessions on sandy, great lake with a chance of bagging a 40. You will have to book in advance as its a busy water , Its had a lot of publicty in the mags lateley so everybody wants to fish it. Its fishing quite slow at the moment i believe so swim choice is your first priority. Try the pipes , island swims , bailiffs, all produce big carp. as for bait maggot , boilies, corn all work well. The same old rules aply to this water, have a good look around, the fish show quite a bit .
  11. like nash said that happens, more so with zigs. keep at it mate .
  12. tickets from the shop only mate book in advance.they are locked gates you need a combonation or key. i havn't forgot about getting you a guest ticket for one of the bigger lakes, need to plan my fishing . good luck on tri-lakes mate.
  13. south lake is a day ticket water on the yateley complex. fish to over 30lb. you could also try sandhurst but its been busy lateley.some nice fish in there.the trouble with tri lakes is its a farm/zoo type of thing so its rammed with kids during the summer, it is a nice place though, what sort of place does your dad fancy? let me know and i will come up with a venue close by.Also the good thing about the yateley lakes is they are all secure, locked gates so if your names not down your not getting in sort of thing, no noddy's walking around.
  14. Three lakes on a country park type setting. pay at the entrance. carp to around 20lb, tench to 7lb. lots of kids around as its a farm type thing. better fished in autunm is its quieter. No night fishing i think. Better paying £12 and fishing across the road on south lake.
  15. Sandhurst yateley for fish up to 40lb, average fish over 20lb. £18 for 24hrs from yateley angling centre.
  16. if your catching on a regular basis then you must be doing something right mate.I wouldn't fiddle to much if the rig is working for you.
  17. I use a fox rig board, just wrap them around it, get abot five on the board.
  18. I know flykack lives in devon and fish's a nice water. maybe pm him mate if you don't get a reply from here. Newton abbot have a few waters woth fishing so you could check them out also.
  19. I fish the nursery most weeks, fished the split, pumphouse and horseshoe also but not that much. stock for the nursery up to 40lb, a few cats over 40. some carp are the original stock, older than the car park fish. very weedy at the moment. fantastic lake though, full of islands ,snags ,bars its a water that needs time spending on it.
  20. In the words of the mods "SEARCH"
  21. Dont use any other rig but the standard hair rig. I do use a smll piece of tubing on the curve if im fishing a popup. This i find helps the hook to dig in when the bait is taken. Just a personal thing that i find works for me.
  22. Just thought i would let people know yateley sandhurst is back on the day ticket. No more angling plus card required.
  23. beza is right , you can't pin the line down in weed. Also how thick is the weed. you could always lead around looking for a clear patch, thats your best bet with the snowman rig.or you could fish just on the outside of the weed if you can, that way you will be able to pin the line down and present the bait correctly. If you are casting in to weed your bait will not always hit the bed and you get line hung up on the weed. You could try a heavier lead and a sold bag , that way the lead will hit thebed and not lay up in the weed and the bag will prevent tangles or hook ups in the weed. Its one of those situations we all suffer from when fishing in weed. just trial and error mate.
