The other reason I have never used it is that it cures (sets) by heat, put some on a piece of foam to see what happens, It will smoke as it gets so hot and can combust! It's nasty stuff and I would never use it on my rigs or knots, Good for repairing broken mug handles
  2. At what range are you casting?

To right! the gas given of from super glue are in fact Cyanide, ethyl cyanoacrylate
  4. Here you go, basicly it's a heli rig fished on a short stiff curved link and a pop up is the standard bait, the rig is used to fish in silt or weed and the top bead is set to the depth of weed/silt and the rig should slide up to the top bead on the cast: http://www.google.com/search?q=chod+rig+pics Never used it but I think thats the basics
  5. Tom Riddle, thats what Brian calls him I loved Goblet and The Order, they have to cut them down, or they would be 5hrs long, not that I would mind
  6. Still a superb reference which still holds true today, some thing may be seen to be outdated, but his application will still catch fish anywhere, apart from the lake he blanked on that I didn't! One of the modern innovators, I think we all owe him a great deal, Thanks KM
  7. How dare you say his name Mudblood!!!
  8. I have read them all in published order, seen all the films in order and have all the DVD's, I'm a Squib
  9. Glad to help, really try to keep everthing as simple as possible, as the more complex the rig and lead set becomes, the more there is to go wrong
  10. This could help: http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=40132&highlight=
  11. After a 2 hour chat with my friend tonight about safe rigs or rig, we came to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a 100% safe rig, even a pure running is not safe, imagine a break or cut off above the lead that gets snagged or tangled above the lead will not allow the lead or rig to come free, all we can do in reality is use the safest and simplest rigs possible!
  12. Well done nice Carp!
  13. No Less, as the stop will pull off very easily, as I said, after a take the stop has moved 2ft up the main line, but has enough resistance to be a true bolt rig!
  14. All I use is a rubber float stop, and it will slide off easy, as after a take it can be 2 ft up the line, so moves very freely
  15. I use this 99% of the time, The shocker rig is not a new rig, as a matter of fact it was the original bolt rig from the early 80's and still works it's magic! However all I use is hooklink>>>swivel>>>bead>>>running lead>>>bead>>> float stop. If the line parts for any reason, the float stop will pull of the line, easily releasing the lead
  16. I too Keep it as simple and effective as I can, Running leads with no tube or leader
  17. Why do you loose so many Nick, I land 99% of hooked fish? Rods maybe?
  18. Quite right if you use your brain you will not get tangles. Casting correctly also helps a great deal. I will also say that on experiments I did two or so years ago every baited rig I cast to the far side of a pool [50metres] was not tangled on the bottom. However on retrieval 4 out of 11 were tangled. So do not assume you are getting tangled on the cast. Very true Frank, But it's no confidence booster
  19. Matt, You know my rigs are "simple" but In 25 years I can say I have not lifted a scale from a Carp! Tubing was used as "anti Tangle" when we started using Dacron and latter braid............
  20. Hi Ed, I fish this rig 99% of the time, however mine has no tubing/leader. Hooklink>>>swivel>>>bead>>>running lead>>>bead>>>float stop, Simple as but very effective! I fish this with a 5-6 inch stiff rig and is suitable for most bottom make ups, hope this helps!
  21. Sorry Ed, What are you asking???
  22. Good point Jake, Can you please explain why you would change them, as I read it all the time but no one ever gives details as to why?
  23. "Where as my mate uses shorter rigs 3 - 5 inches and if going off fish on the bank I am way ahead!" If it aint Broke dont..............................................
  24. Great tip Paul! I,ve posted the same in another thread 2 min's ago
