  1. In answer to your second part, either lightly place the tail rubber over the lead clip or cut the tail down so you have small band, maybe down to half cm, that will dump the lead everytime
  2. Not really Either you lose the lead or you don't, don't really see a way round it. Obviously safety clips can be changed by cutting down the tails or abused by putting the tail on too far. Going to butt out here cos I can't really see an answer to your question, it's pretty black and white to me, but someone else my have a different view on it
  3. That's some balancing act your looking for there. Think you need to look at from the direction that if you do get snagged whilst playing a fish would you want it to be stuck dragging a lump of lead around if and when it frees itself Personally I think that losing a few quid is better than the fish it's life
  4. Hi there I'm off to Scarper Carper on the 14th June, so 2 weeks and really can't wait. Just looking for any feedback from anyone who's been there this year Thanks
  5. Hi there I live in East Yorkshire but have never fished it, the web site looks pretty good and there is a good head of fish, Pond 1 is the hardest pond but the one to get on www.emmotlandponds.co.uk
  6. There is also the place just outside of Market Rasen that the boys from Total Carp did a feature on last year, can for the life of me remember what it's called. I'll have a look tonight, unless anyone else know what it's called It's called fish pond farm fishery, it is listed in the huge post above. Its just off the A46 just north of MR
  7. Trigga - I don't know if it give you an edge or not but as you say it works in princple and I've caught on it so I know it works I've used the combi rig from the Nash web site but armobraid is more supple. I'm hoping that using IQ that is a bit stiffer and will be harder to eject
  8. Thanks for that Tony, Will give it a go on Thursday and let you know how it goes.
  9. I was messing about at home with some bits and peices over the weekend in readiness for a session on Thursday. I started to tie some rigs and this is what I came up with. A combi rig with about an inch of IQ soft to the hook with the hair attached to the hook at the far end bent of the hook with silicon tube and linked to Nash trigga link with the joint being covered in critical mass, I will be using a 10mm dumbell bottom bait. All contected to a shocka rig My think behind it is that the IQ is fair stiff and will be difficult to eject, plus with the hair leaving the hook at the bent the weight will be over the point. Any advise?
  10. Hi there Fished it in May this year, first time in France and like the other post it is spot on. Fished from Ronnie Row across to the the over hanging trees and it was spot on had fish every day biggest was 36lb Mirror and also a 32lb Common. Venue is really good, lodge and showers no more than a minute from most swims. The only problem we had was tadpoles eating the shell fish bollies, they where covering the whole bait so we didn't fish with them, used pop ups for the week and as I say was good. The lake is probably no more than 6 ft deep in the deepest parts and there are a lot of gravel bars and we had all of our fish off of these. Peter the owner is a really nice guy and will help you out as much as he can, he even tied rigs and rowed baits out for one of our guys that was struggling. The nearest village is about 20mins away so take food with you unless you want a break from the fishing Myself and the guys rebooked before we left this year and are back in June next year and we can't wait. When you going, you should have got a DVD from Peter and will give you a good idea of what your getting, if you want to PM me with your email address I will send you some photos of the place and the fish we catch Good luck
  11. Surely someone must have fished it, I tried to get a swim at the weekend and it was fully booked all weekend
  12. Wouldn't use a sub float, see other posts about it being a death rig. To help with your problem what I have done in the past is to coil your rig up and then tie it into one section with a length of pva string obviously this will melt.. This will hold it together and won't tangle on your cast. You have to careful when you coil the rig up that you don't tangle it then. Hope this help
  13. Has anyone fished Fairview fishery at Cawood near Selby in Yorkshire recently. It was featured in this months Crafty Carper.
