  1. 48hrs seems common thing at alot.. good in a way as it keeps you on your toes and stops 'swim hogs' but like you say if your paying that money you should be able fish how long you want.
  2. Hi all.. Was wondering if anyone was currently fishing here?? Im on the current waiting list and would ideally like to know what its like, worth the huge joining fee etc.. Cheers
  3. Sorry to give this thread a wake up! But seeing how anyone is doing?? Im looking to join but really want to know if theres any major rules and is it safe??
  4. havent been there 4 ages so icouldnt really say! nights would always be better 9-30pm onwards is take time ha ha ha
  5. the princess rd bank always done well, the seacadets corner has plenty of underwater features but its near the enterance and doin the night there would be a bit dodgy.. Then the long cast up to the island from the same bank(4got the name) TOP Swim.. or go round to the island swim and fish on the old pads.. nice and out the way there' one path in so nobody can walk past u in the night! Was a member of DDAPS for 10 years and sad to say it just went down hill.. but a good set of lakes to work on and earn your stripes in carp fishing. Horton Kirby is a good water to try things out as its normally empty and still has a few big'uns in there! just getting through the 12lb commons can be a problem. Left hand lake LONG CHUCK, SLUCE swim always produces.. tight tight to the island but wouldnt bother going further down as we never had much joy from the bottom end. Right Hand Lake Find the bars and you'l catch, used to have some good fish but many got lost when the lake flooded Hogs point, the cut, wide swims always do well! Sutton DDAPS jewel as they like to think.. never got on well down there, had some good upper 20's.. from both lakes it's just that the place gets rammed all the time and certain anglers/baliffs dont have any respect for there fellow fisherman.. you'll see ha ha ha (they dont like spodders )
  6. it doesn't suprise me what so ever!! angler=££££'s
  7. MANTIS all the time!!! the original and still THE BEST
  8. mantis! thats all i have used for years... PUKKA
  9. hi dave, maybe book up a week at your lake in 08! would be nice to see what uve done with it and the thought of kathy's food!! mmmm.... so hows it been fishing?
  10. hi all, We had hired the carp cabin which is in the north corner of the lake this had about 3 acres of water with swims 6-7-8. My mate fished swim 8 and i was in 7, infront of me was some really nice spots but quite shallow so u need a lot of marker work to find deeper area's. The best swims this week were 9 and 10 which had all the fish and action, the 73lb sturgen coming out twice and another 45lb'er.. the 3 guys had loads of takes and carp to high 30's whilst the rest of the lake was dead! giving the other anglers a blanked week or just the 1 fish.. The methods that worked for the 3 guys were fishing 30-40 yards out to the deep spots(silt) on SINGLE hoobaits or maize. Good Points: 1. nice swims!! 2. well spaced out so you dont fight for water 3. easy to get to from the ferry port 4. good clean facilities 5. ur tackle is taken to your swim for u!! 6. You can hear the baliff (john, top bloke) coming a mile off on his quad 7. unhooking mats&slings are supplied free(they wont let u use your own) Bad points: 1. have to be gone at 9am, too early 2. you can only use running rigs or the LEAD CLIPS he sells which r a rip off, these are called morale clips, never heard of them 3. lake is not as big as it seems from swim 7 i could hit the other side 4. Not the easiest water i have graced especially for a heavily stocked french lake, but that maybe be bad timing?
