  1. Just finished reading it, it's a novelisation of the film, brilliant read, I don't normally read autobiographical types of books, but this was brilliant, it covers his time as a TV presenter right through to the closing of the Hacienda. Funny, informative and entertaining all the way through. If you've got any interest in the Madchester scene, I can't recommend this book highly enough!
  2. Steve, you're a clever fella. Well done. Keep it to yourself in future though!
  3. And why would you want to go to the hassle of doing that? Surely it is best to choose a certain hooklink material in a certain length for a certain bottom you are fishing over (taking into account your baiting pattern and the actual bait you are using) on the given day. Apart from my choddies, i do not tie my rigs at home anymore. I get to the swim i choose, decide what bait im fishing with and the bottom im fishing over then tie a rig to suit the situation. I feel doing it that way you are more flexible in your approach. My God, things have changed since I've been away, you're using choddies Tony?!
  4. It's pretty smile IMO, but I just question why you wouldn't just use a pendant style lead, unless you were attatching PVS stocking bags to the swivel at the bottom of the inline? http://www.carpology.net/downloads/Tactics17.pdf Go to page 5
  5. Yep, its the Rigmarole CamH2O that you're thinking of. Got 3 spools for a tenner at a show a while back, and it is nice stuff, perfect in 15lb for leaders.
  6. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease? I'm bursting here! Well sucking fingers should sort that out for you Sam PMSL! THought something like that would be your reply!
  7. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease? I'm bursting here!
  8. Who says I fish it only as a Fixed position rig even over gravel? My dislike of the Name "Chod" rig It is a rotary style rig and lead set-up, Bomb-on-the-end-of-the-line or Helicopter set-up. Fair enough. I thought you didn't like the 'Silt' rig, regardless of what you're fishing over, or did you mean the Rotary set-up in weed?
  9. I mean the actual Chid rig itself, not the helicopter lead set up
  10. Im sorry but if I read you right you surmise that a "chod" fishes the bait off the ground? If this is your thought you are sadley wrong, the "chod" fishes the bait directly on the soft surface of silt, silk weed etc, whereas other rigs could pull the bait under the surface. Big fish rigs do not exist, the way you can fish might be big fish selective. I see what yo're saying there, but the mechanics of the rig as I spoke of them were on a clean gravel/clay etc bottom, sorry for not pointing that out I realise the chod rig will not be brilliantly effective on this sort of bottom, as it was designed for silt/weed but it was just an example
  11. Do you think they exist? I suppose the classic example of this is the silt/chod rig. The thinking being that a bigger fishes eyes will be further from the ground when they're feeding, therefore the hookbait will be right in front of them, whereas smaller fish will have their eyes closer to the ground and not see it. 12. Some of the packaging nuggets are starch based Joe. I'm not nitpicking, I'm just saying as I bought a huuuuge bag from my local tackle emporium for a quid, and it took around five minutes to dissolve fully, in warm(ish) water, and that was the starchy stuff. I tend to use the Solar jacketed coloured stuff, but I don't know why they think you'd want so many brown bits! That stuff from the ELC looks OK though, I have to say...
  13. Tell you what, you wanna try an eggy bread bacon sarnie If you like you could even put in a fried egg to get the dippy yolk... I'm hungry now...
  14. Of course you can - have a bead and swivel under the float and tie a weak bottom link and bomb to it. i can't see much point in abandoning leads at a £1 a chuck So you don't use lead clips then? Oh, and you can get leads for 1/2 that
  15. Don't worry, we've all done it Although I hope you haven't just ruined some poor sod's day floater fishing, 'coz his link is sinking
