  1. Nah its not the same fish i just seen it in your thread This is the mirror i caught twice at around 18lb 8oz then i caught it again a month later This is the best common i had there which was 16lb something All the rest was low doubles i think i caught about 15 there in total last year
  2. Yeah sainsburys is a bit tougher because of the low fish stocks. Everytime ive been to the turf though ive had between 5-10 fish in a day, havent been for a while though. Have you got a large photo of that fish in your avatar? If its a mirror of around 18lb i caught that twice last year lol would be intresting to see it if you dont mind
  3. would agree with you on this one paul but it's been froze over for the last 3 weeks and there has only been three fish pulled out in the last 4 months 4 Months ? I think not, i had a 12lb and my stepson a couple of smaller fish in mid to late November I have found Turf pretty tough on the occaisions i've fished it during 2008 and certainly wouldn't class it as an easy water, maybe its down to the angling pressure or the up and down weather but a lot of people on there have commented on how tough its been on there. Personally i wouldn't even think about spodding thereat the moment, single baits and watching for the showing fish worked for us last time we were there and no one else caught during the couple of sessions we had there in November so we must have done something right. Tight Lines The turf is an easy runs water. I,ve been before in summer where nobodys been catching and all you have to do is use your head and do something different and you catch easy. Same as calf heath you can catch at least 5-10 carp in a day if you take enough bait. Trouble with them pools is too many noobs go there that spoil it for others, thats why you dont get many fishing sainsburys pool because they cant catch at all. I was told that a hard water but i found out its not really, you just gotta use watercraft and be quiet and do things different.
  4. Yeah i aint seen many fishing it when ive been driving past.
  5. You joined at wrong time really as you will have to renew in may. But on that pool by the turf i used to catch between 5-10 carp a day. I just used to pick a spot with marker as its all roughly same depth then put a few spods out and fish both over same area. Then i would top up the swim after each fish. Dont know about this time of yeah but if i was to go i recon spodding maggotts would work well
  6. Cheers mate it looks a nice lake in summer. Think you can night fish it too but i seen you cant use boilies which isnt much of a problem its just would get pestered by tench as like you said i think theres alot. Saying that i enjoy catching tench on a float rod.
  7. Ive been there before for a look and the matchmen said there wasnt any carp but i think they just dont want carpers there. I'd like to know myself if theres many carp as id like to join cos its only 5 minutes away.
  8. Is that the caravan holiday Park Paul, with a small club house? Small pool then the lake? As I went there over 20 years ago No i think you might mean unity farm or maybe northan farm in brean? Northam Farm, Brean, has a small lake/large pool that looks unlikely. Despite that I fished it when my wife and I stayed there in our touring caravan in 2007. I had some very nice fish from that water. Best was 18.5lb mirror. Nobody was carp fishing while I was there, just me. The other anglers were mostly holidaymakers using Argos-type tackle....or that stuff sold in the promenade toyshops....and not catching much. I had a look at the Unity Park pool while there. Looked rather nice, or as nice as an overfished, holiday park water can be. Ian I went in about 1990 or something when they first made the lake. It was hard fishing at first but each year we went it got better and better as it matured. That little pool was good too on the pole but i used to get pestered by eels

  10. Used to go to a little lake called emerald lake just past burnham on sea when i went on holiday ages ago. Not sure what its like now but there was sturgeon in there aswell
  11. Dont think there is anymore the biggest i seen come out was 24lb and i fished it alot for a year and had 3 scraper 20s and loads of doubles.
  12. its quite thin compared to snakebite you can get 2 colours i think one is browny colour and the other green i think not 100% sure. But like i say once its been on bottom it tends to take colour on. Its coated aswell so u can strip it back and make different rigs.
  13. Hello mate happy new year to you too. I normaly use esp striptease for alot of my fishing as im confident in it and if your fishing silty place it changes colour and breaks it up a bit, especially when fishing over silt it takes the colour of the bottom on a bit.
  14. Yeah il fish anywhere really. I just enjoy getting out fishing. I dont always fish for carp either, sometimes il just go down the river or something with feeder and maggots
  15. If thats the big lake i think they just goto high doubles. I used to go ages ago and used to bagup with the method feeder
  16. What size fish are still in there? id be intrested in fishing it if theres anything decent My dad blanked but he said that there were gale force winds as its quite open. There were no carp topping or no signs what so ever but judging by the photo album the farmer keeps there should be some good fish in there, a few of them looked close to 30lb. I haven't seen any carp come out so i'll hold judgement til a see for myself. Thanks mate il definitly have to pop down soon
  17. Paul, I lived close by for years. The water was only known as 'The Floods' because it was originally caused by the Trent flooding. There never used to be fishing allowed but the odd local got permission occasionally. In about 1985/6 a friend and I once asked the farmer if we could fish there and he gave us permission. We only did one 3 day session there to see if there were any signs of it having carp in. We had no action and didn't see anything other than silver fish and the odd larger Bream. We never went back again which was a shame and possibly an opportunity missed. I did hear of a few nice pike being caught there over the years. It could/maybe had carp in from the Trent but I've not heard of any being caught. Of course this all may have changed and it could now be stocked with carp and heavily fished for all I know. Access is difficult unless you know the area well or the owner gives you access through the farm. Cheers mate I found a gate down a lane at the side of it and drove into the field as another car was there and it said public footpath. There was only the one peg that looked fishable without wearing waders and that looked quite shallow. Be intresting to know whats in there
  18. i didnt even know there was a pool there and im only at muckley corner lol. is it at the back of that old cafe on the chester road? i know theres a small pool the opposite side to that cafe by the speed camera but thats it.
  19. they do, a bloke told me they do random checks just after dark. And if they catch you they will ban you.
  20. is that the pool just over the road from florette and 3663?
  21. yeah i looked on the overhead map and it looks like hole 1 fairway cuts through the pool and then another hole the green is right by the lake. Surley that cant be legal with health and safety? It only takes 1 golf ball on the head to kill someone
  22. Cheers good luck mate it looks a nice place
