  1. Forgive me I have forgotten lol. Was hoping someone who had a hide would know. I'm fishing at the moment, I'm here till Sunday morning, so will post again when I take the bivvy down. Its too high up to read at the moment
  2. I've just recently bought the nash titan hide xl pro in green may I add. It has a warning message on the block at the top of the bivvy. I'm probably just being dumb, but I don't know what it means. Anyone shed some light on it?
  3. That's a different idea I could try that. I have a korda braid that is uncoated that might do the trick
  4. Tbh I haven't been on the lake lately. Been fishing other lakes. But I will do at some point
  5. I don't think the lead is plugging. But I will be more aware of it next time thanks
  6. Not sure to be honest. If it is what can I do?
  7. No not seen the advice but will take a look thanks ☺
  8. It was overweighted I ended up making it critically balanced
  9. His everyone, not been on here in a while. I've started fishing a lake of around 8 acres in size. It holds around 60 carp. I found the fish and was confident of a bite, I believe I had a fish pick me up several times over my session because of a series of beeps. I don't think they were liners. I was fishing to a gap on an island and using a hinge rig with semi stiff braid boom. I believe my boom section was long enough to accommodate for the silty bottom. Would it help if I was to change the boom section to a stiffer material that can still accommodate the silt, like esp ghost?
  10. Can't find the unfair rig on youtube
  11. I was thinking of using inline lead where the fish picks up heaviest part first then if it shakes its head the swivel drops out ect. Is Tha worth a try before changing rig?
  12. I've been using a hinge rig with semi stiff boom, and I was doing well on it but lately I think they have been getting away with it as my rod goes off then stops. Can anyone shed some light on this?
  13. Is it so it blends in? sorry just thought about that
  14. What adjustments would you make to the first 3 to make them effective as pop up rigs? and why would you swap to a fluro combi when fishing on gravel?
  15. the trakker i bought about 6 years ago and it was already very worn back then. but the jrc i bought brand new and it says 5 season but still isnt warm enough in cold temps. i just dont understand it!!!! im really worried to buy another in case its not good enough and then i would have wasted money.
  16. I don't know weather its because i cant handle the cold or weather its because i haven't got a good quality sleeping bag. ive got 2 sleeping bags one i bought second hand some years ago all i know is that its made by trakker. The second is a jrc 5 season. neither of them keep me warm when it gets cold, i have to have 2 hot water bottles. why are they not keeping me warm if they are supposed to be 5 season? could anyone recommend me a decent bag that will keep me really warm in winter?? thanks
  17. ok a little confused? is using shrink tubing to create more of a bend in an already bent hook ok or is it dangerous? also i cant use braid as it is banned
  18. just wondering about curve shank hooks by korda it says on the packet that there is no need for shrink tubing because the way in which the hook is made. would it be beneficial to add some shrink tubing anyway?
  19. what name and brand please??
  20. im fishing a lake soon with a no braid hooklength rule. what material could i replace it with? thanks
  21. ok i really dont understand rig mechanics atall, what is the difference between a chod rig set up and a regular pop up set up. how would one outfish the other??
  22. Is it a bottom bait, pop up, or balanced? Also what rig material are you using, and how long is your hook link? Is the bait really thin? What hook size? To my mind, hair length just comes in with a whole other list of variables that affect rig mechanics, and one affects the other and so forth. its a bottom bait, the rig material is coated braid with abit stripped back by the hook. the length is probably slightly more than 4 inches the bait is probs slightly less than half a millimeter in thickness and the hook is a size 10 korda kurv shank hook. Wow, that is a thin bait!! With a 4 inch rig I wouldn't go too long on the hair. The bait hasn't far to move before it will hit resistance and you don't want the whole lot being pulled back out of the mouth before its been sucked in properly. Too long hair on a short rig and the hook might not be in the mouth before the fish realises its not just a freebie. 5-10 mm from the top of the bend in the hook to the bait, but that's just my opinion. Others may differ. Maybe a blow back type rig too perhaps, or some tubing on the hook to keep the hair along the hook until past the point? Doubt there are any hard and fast rules for a bait that's less than half a mm thick! Is it like a sheet or something? I'd have a play around with different set ups and see what works. If you think you're missing pick ups or getting aborted takes then change the hair length or rig length. i think i got it wrong half a millimetre isnt right not sure how thin it was but not that thin. i ended up blanking anyway. not sure what was happening as i was getting bleeps and what seemed like semi takes. i dont know if thi was carp or other fish?

  24. I'm using a bait that is small but quite long and ive made a couple of hair rigs up with the bait on there is a bit of a gap between the hook and bait also making the distance from hook point and the bottom of the bait even further. could this long hair lose me bites?
  25. Thanks smufter but I'm low on cash so will just be sticking to wylands where it will cost me no extra
