  1. just to let u no,, a mate of mione done 24 hours last week and had 12 fish to 31! with a couple of sturgeon thrown in aswell
  2. its a puddle in someones garden!!! not my cup of tea at all,,,but alrite if u like places like that!
  3. not seeing anyone down there isnt unusual mate,,,i done 3 days down there last summer and didnt see anyone the whole time i was there,,,very rare that u do see people actualy,, maybe the lamb will go in for it since they own shutty and the cov pool... hope they dont though
  4. id not heard that myself...but if its true then the best bank,,,the one opposite the road im guessing will be out of bounds as i cant see the farmer that owns the land letting random people on his land when his cattle are out grazing...bit of a [censored]t£r if its true
  5. didnt manage to get any fishing in,,,but read terry hearns new book whilst i was lazing on the beach,,,,,doesnt half inspire u to get out there.next day off cant come quick enough now....
  6. the pigs lake, used to be football pitches but as you say the land started to sink, im not sure weather it was then chosen to flood it,,,or it just happened, the river follows the far bank if your looking at it from the road before moving slightly in to the middle nearer the pub, the best areas iv found are either in the orchard just past the island, the wires, and further down in the shallower water towards the pub, and whilst the waters cold i no a few fish get caught out of the river! cant be to sure other than that for winter location as iv not fished it in the cold myself!...the stretch of river near the pub is controlled by daw mill ac...you can only fish the small stretch at the top end through the gate on the birch ticket... as for the cov pools, i no that there are fish in there, but iv not fished it,,,and so what i no is only wat iv been told, the potential for big fish is there,,,but as its connected to the pigs im guessing that the fish will be very similar, and so i personally wouldnt expect to find anything huge in there, but theres only one way to find out i suppose! once the weather warms up a bit ill be more than happy to meet u down the pigs mate, weather it be for a days fishing or just a walk about. wont be at the computer for a week or so now,,im off to gambia 2nite
  7. the river will be worth a go while the waeathers still cold,,always produces a few through the winter months..... you dont get any other pools on the ticket,,,you just get a stretch of river and canal in polesworth
  8. the pre baitings been tried many times before for the start of the season,,and it just doesnt work fot that first couple of weeks...after thta i think it would be a huge benifit though.... the fish no where they want to be,and there very hard to get away from those areasdue to the huge amount of natural food in there,,,you have to get a ticket through birchmoor working mens club,
  9. the pre baiting goes out of the window untill a couple of weeks after mate,,,its been tried a lot..and theres just to many people on there opening week, ur better off just picking off the odd fish untill the crowds die down..thats when u can realy get amongst the fish..
  10. you want the bircmoor ticket mate...far more water to fish...i think we averaged about 3 fish each....but it fishes alot better when its not stitched up with lines..hardly receives any pressure other than opening week...in the warmer months the bottom end opposite the pub is ur best bet,,,,the fish get within feet of the bank....in the colder weather the river is always worth a go aswell.
  11. although the potential for big fish is there,,nothing ever been caught above 30,,,fishmeal baits are a must,,,the fish give there whereabouts away fairly easy with the warmer weather....i think the biggest that came out for the 4 days i did at the start of the season was 27 between about 14 of us.. and thats the biggest any of them had heard of out of there
  12. in theory its a good idea...but i think thered be to much resistance when the fish pickes up the hookbait..
  13. the black stealth skin......amazing stuff.. and if your after something with a boit of stiffness try the old mono......very few pepole use it nowdays been on the korda iq soft aswell, cant fault it
  14. stick with a size 6 or 8, but use them with a long hair
  15. its claimed that theres 30's in there but the baliff says the biggest he no's of is 27,, not keen on the place at all,,not bad if ur after a few fish with the chance of sum upper doubles, but not my cup of tea gets rammed with noddys aswell
