  1. I had a shed loaf fish out when I fished it about 4 years ago, Responding well to zigs at the minute from what iv seen walking around it, and the cell is the bait to be on.. I love the place, but only do the odd session on there now usually for a bit of a social
  2. stick yourself on any peg at barston and youl sack up!! thousands of the things in there.. willesley is a gorgeous place that isnt easy by any stretch, could be worth a look
  3. Totally agree.... Just can't justify that sort of price hike for half a dozen hours
  4. Does anybody have any info on this lake, had a walk round today and the place is gorgeous, seen a couple of nice fish, and have a good idea of how I'm going to approach it but any clues would be great
  5. One of the most frustrating waters for miles, purely because of how clear the water is, so you can see what's going on. But on it's day it can be amazing, I spoke to a bloke down there a few weeks back that hadn't caught in 18 trips this year, yet last year he was having them for fun.. Stunning fish though, and well worth the effort
  6. I forgot swan, get on it!! Although you can't fish nights.. Some cracking fish in bodymoor aswell
  7. Yur looking for the same as the rest of us mate, but there few and far between. And the majority are either syndicate or club waters that are kept hush hush
  8. Willesly would be ok for what your after, or you have mineral lakes in Bedworth, that has some decent sized fish to go at, lakeside or makins just off the m69 aswell
  9. A night session at pine pool?? Ull want to take out a second mortgage on your house for it at somehing like £40..
  10. theres plenty of clear spots,,but leave the marker in the rod bag!!! most of them are visable, but one of the biggest tips is dont be afraid to fish into the weed with solid bags
  11. hes put the price up to 20 to try and keep away the muppets that kept turning up to fish it,,,thurs-sunday you might aswell right it off though as its rammed without fail i went for a look today, and there was 9 bivvys on,
  12. ill mirror what penkers said,, but ill add that since its a weekend chances are it will be stitched up with lines, and loads of bait will be going in, so maybe look in the quiet corners away from the crowds, but dont lash the water to a foam casting or spodding all the time, little bags wil do fine its not an easy water so dont expect to be bagging, however i wouldnt class it as hard, and aslong as you do things right you will catch, its usually the people that fish it that ruin it for themselves
  13. think its a tenner for a day session mate try and get one of the swims in between the islands
  14. Ull bag up with gear like that, use a bit of spam javelin for bait and they will be all over you
  15. Gay carp, then? Ian i heard you can only fish there with a pink bivvy
  16. Sod that then! I'm off to lavender hall instead
  17. thinking of heading over for 24 hours 2moro, but have heard the fish have been moved into the runs water due to a leak in the speci, have walked the place a couple of times a few years back, but never got around to fishing there. any hints, tips, areas?? etc etc what was the average size in there beforehand as i dont fancy being up all night catching tiddlers was thinking im best to leave it alone now, but apparently its fishing well
  18. Still birchmoor for definate, and there's always been trouble with the cars etc down there, has been for years and years, I used to fish it but left the ar at home and got dropped off If I was doin the night
  19. Does anybody have a contact number? Or does anybody no if tickets are still aailable or if it's a case of not getting one in December then it's to bad??? Cheers guys
  20. If there's nothing telling you not to then get on it, just keep well hidden and don't make it obvious
  21. I tend to fish weekdays mate or short evening sessions, I'm flitting around lots of waters at the minute but none are really doing it for me, I'm reluctant to fish willesly as about 5 years back I put in alot of time on there and caught a stack of fish to 32! I'm after more numbers than actual size at the minute whilst I get back into it, although the lure of an no fishing lake with a known 40 in is pulling me. Where do you fish?
  22. Count me in if anyone wants a fishin buddy, my mrs lives just outside measham, and iv just started back up after a 2 year lay off, food local knowledge and used to fish some tough waters, have had a 32 out of willesly and from a couple more waters! Looking for a few more fish instead of size these days though
  23. lovely place with some cracking fish!! its the original "commercial" as such, but is far from the holes in the ground you find these days! bait wise get on the cm1 that is sold there, hell of a lot of the stuff goes in there and it catches alot of fish. u wont get a telling off for being late any more as tony sadly passed away a few years ago, he was one to always speak his mind and came accross as a bit arsey alot of the time, his son ian now runs the place with his wife jane, and its alot more relaxed, roy and jules in the cafe make a bostin brekkie id highly reccomend the place, i like it, just very rarely fish it
  24. Burton mutual angling association... They have a number of waters and some very large fish
  25. It's been 4 years since I fished it, I had plenty of fish out mid to high doubles being the average, with a good sprinkling of twenty in there, biggest I had was 32.4... And havnt fished it since that day as a 30 from Terence was my target, aight off the boards swim down in the shallows, I did 90% of my fishing down that end and was baiting regular on between sessions, rarely gets fished down there as the pegs are all a bit akward and caught very well compared to the rest of the pool... Which is why in nearly every post on willesley I advise people not to ignore the shallows, stacks of fish down there on Friday when I walked aroud, probably 15 people fishing and no1 within a hundred yards of them just like the old days
