Rollin baits used to make Nutrabaits baits before Bill Cottam sold Nutrabaits.
They have a pretty good reputation, as does MCF.

I had a look at the websites of Innovate, Poacher and Blakes, and they look professional. You don't, no matter what Go Daddy or IONOS says, come up with a decent website like that without spending money.

I've said it in the past, and unfortunately it has bitten you (and me) in the backside, get a bait firm that will be there long term, no cutting corners or mixes, that will be there in 5 years.

Of the companies that you have given, I would be looking at Rollin, Blakes, because they are their own company, with the backing of an animal feed supply, or Poachers baits as I know the name and have been around a good few years.

Fished in the 1980s and 1990s but stopped fishing due to work and other commitments. Now retired and bought a lodge on Waveney Valley D lake. Thankfully kept all of my tackle . Happy days

OK Rich, well I don't know anyone who uses or bigs up Nash or Mainline except someone who gets it free or is paid to say so.  What I hear is cheap contents, effective liquid attractors.  Like you say carp eat any old rubbish but that doesn't mean other baits aren't better for the fish and will be recognised as such long term.
I read up about bait contents not listening to who shouts loudest, mass production is never as good as your smaller producers who worry about quality not saturating the market.
I would pay double what I pay if I believed it gave me a real advantage.  You asked why is there cheap deals on - IMO the answer is partly because it can be, whereas expensive to produce bait cannot be. 👍

Thanks looking forward to fishing again, sadly at the wrong time of the year though. I expect a struggle over winter but prepared to stick it out.  Nothing big in D lake in today’s terms but 5 over 30 with a good head of 20s. That’s good enough to keep me happy.

Falling in to the trap then saving yourself there. Worst thing we do as anglers is say “I changed to this bait and caught more” because we never really know. You could go hours without a carp in the swim, change and they turn up and feed. Who’s to say you wouldn’t have caught on what you had on before.

as you said right place, right time, right everything to get that bite.

    Welcome to Carp.com

Say 'Hi' to Geoff for me. Got a mate who has  a lodge over at Waveney himself.
There are some decent fish in the lakes still, carp and Pike.
