  1. No.. I hope the air cleared before she got home .. .. that would be a serious bad move in our home now, as I have previous for it... about 25 years ago I rolled a load of squid and octopus boilies and needed more freezer room ( only on a temporary basis ) so squeezed them in the food freezer... I have no idea how all the food in the freezer smelt of solar squid and octopus afterwards and the missus threw most of it away.. powerful stuff that squid and octopus and we did used to catch well on it.... but I don’t think I would use it now 😁
  2. Yep I got on the site and mine is now ordered as well...
  3. Thanks, I am pleased with any fish at this time of the year, but there again this time of the year can be very good..
  4. It was indeed angry, and put up a good account of itself, it was a very thick set fish and heavy to lift ( I must be getting old, as i couldn't lift it and hold it out towards the camera for that big carp look ) but instead just had my arms hanging down which doesn't do the fish much justice in the picture.. mind you it was lucky to have its picture taken .. as its not so easy with your iPhone balanced on the top of your bucket
  5. In all the excitement i almost forgot to put the view from my bivvy on the post, well not a view from a bivvy really more like a view from hiding under the tree's whilst wading around in mud trying not to disturb my swim whilst fishing in the margins..
  6. Another early morning shot, got here in darkness put a very small carpet just off some snags... and set up... cast two baits into baited area and 2 hours later....... one common thirty one and a half pounds.... for a fairly difficult water..... well chuffed.. going to stick the kettle on now.... espeacially now the rod is back in the water..👍
  7. This mornings view......was a pleasant one watching the reflections as well as watching carp feeding in the still water.. my trip was another one of my short sessions on one of my club waters, bait in the water at 7.30 and packed up at 10.30... ( I do a lot of these short sessions in the winter, just to keep an eye on what’s going on ) this water is not a easy water and you almost need a machete to get to the swims around the back and a good pair of wellies to get through the ankle deep wet mud 😁... so it was my “ very mobile and doesn’t matter if my gear gets damaged kit today “ the trip was enjoyable but didn’t result in any big mirrors that I was after today, but did result in a fairly small common which was still a welcome result in December..
  8. Chilly day session today... won’t be a long day.. but my last short session here a couple of weeks ago with frost on the ground resulted in a 19 lb 2oz common after three hours fishing.. hoping for the same sort of luck today 😂😂😂
  9. I used to use one of those, I remember it well.. just get it all set up nicely then sit on the middle and the top and bottom sections shot up in the air and you had to re set the ratchets again... mind you it was more comfortable Than just laying in a old army sleeping bag on the ground.... how things have changed..
  10. I try to fish with minimum disturbance and not too much bait (especially if the spot is regularly fished by others, as they generally throw a lot of bait in ) if it’s choddie I will probably fish chods with light weights 1.5 oz ish .. alternately it could be line clips or free running ( what ever the situation requires really ) but the main thing I try to do is locate where the fish are... if they are not there... you haven’t got a chance.
  11. Yep same here, I did a night at my syndicate last week and stayed up most of the night.... got home following lunchtime and slept until 6 in the evening 😁
  12. Not quite as good as a set of alarms, but it still worked... mind you we didn’t sleep when night fishing back in those days..
  13. Hello, thanks for the add to the forum, I have been fishing for carp for some time now ( back in the days of when we rolled up the silver paper from a Fag packet for bite indication ) yeah that long... I am based on the sunny south coast of west sussex and since retiring very early I spend a lot of time chasing Carp... this is a interesting looking forum and I am going to enjoy having a good read..
