  1. Ohh joyyyy so the £120 esp rod that i have used 3 times and i gotta replace the whole shabang last time i buy any rod from that company.
  2. Hi can anyone tell me the name for the ring that sits in the eye as today i got one of my rods out that i have owned for a while but has had very little use and the 2nd from top eye ring is missing like its just dropped out of the eye ... the eye is not damaged atall no bends or scratches like i caught it on summin. Can you replace the rings or do you have to change the whole eye ?. Thanx.
  3. Its gonna be mainly used on canadian pond weed just to clear an area from the margin to about 8ft out and a couple of rake widths wide ... i find the screws better than a rake head as they are at all angles with the rake head i find it pulls throu without picking up the canadian pond weed up ... rake heads work better on silt weed i find. Im only doing it as the bars of soap will be on the munch soon and i have had some of my best days fishing for them over a freshly raked line ... chuck a can of corn over the top and fish the 2nd day after you raked it and when you arrive just as the suns coming up you can watch them rolling over the line you raked and the fizzing is unreal. I normally catch almost instantly ... double corn sorts them right out.
  4. Dont waste 30 or even 40 quid on a weed rake make your own. You need ... 30 ... 2 and a 1/2 in screws One 18 inch pvc pipe thats 1 inch and a 1/4 width Around 2ft of Farmers Fence wire. And some Rope. Its pretty straight forward just copy the picture i did this in around 45 mins with some tweeking. Will come in handy and yes thats a palomar knot Dean.
  5. I would 100% go for partical hookbaits in tiny solid pva. Tiger nuts and chick peas as hookbaits. Question ... size of water ... approx stock if known. Have you tried pre baiting as this sounds like a water that needs it. Finally floaters in the summer is your best chance by a mile.
  6. yes 1 man 2 women best bet is to get a double skinned ground sheet so you can peel a layer off , dont want fish guts all over the floor also vented front back and sides
  7. Before saying i like the look of this etc etc ask yourself what you need it to do and then we can guide you in the right direction. Day shelter ? Overnighter ? Week session ? Space and weight ? Ease of setup ? Overwrap ? Brolly system ? Pram hood ? Vents ? Storage space ? Rod holders ? Will it fit a wide boy ? 1 man or 2 man ? 1 man and 2 women ? So many factors without knowing what you need it for its hard to give anymore info.

    Ducks

If you need some ducks just wait a few months untill it warms up and i got my floater gear out and im sure ill have a couple off the top this year
  9. Thats what i ment ... floating water ahahaha my bad ... salo check my blog there is summin you might like a read of in there mate your neck of the woods.
  10. And as for condensation it helps when your firsty i think i have used my overwrap a handful of times tbh they are just another thing to lugg to the lake bulky and heavy and if you cannot live with a little condensation you shouldn't be fishing. The only time they come in handy is when its minus degrees out and you cannot feel your toes then i might get it out if i can be bothered.
  11. Thanx lads the only reason i was looking at another bivvy is it can get very very windy where i am as the lake is above ground level so the cross winds hit like hell even my current bivvy with extra stength bars gets abit of a hammering. I dunno if a brolly will hold up.
  12. Been looking at day shelters anyone had a carpstar pleasure dome it has a zip off front , ground sheet and a vented back for £80 seems a good shelter for the money i already have an overnight bivvy with overwrap but wanna look after it ... so i thort i would get summin cheap for the odd day session here and there that didnt break the bank. The chub pro looks good but has no vent and is around the 120 mark The sonik sks is 100 but i just dnt like the look of it haha.
  13. On my water in the rules it states no use of anything radio controlled. Tbh i do own a cheap £90 drone and it has to be a calm day to get it to fly right abit of side wind and it takes you off course ... they are not the easiest things to learn and the controls take abit of time to get your head round lucky for me my garden backs onto fields so i have plenty of space to learn but after 6 months im still average and would not be confident using it on a water i think a more expensive one would fly better but do you really wanna be spending bait boat money on a drone. Also the goverment is in the process of making tighter rules for the use of them and will be restricted to private land in the end i think. I dnt think they will take off if im being honest.
  14. I think drilling the boilie out abit so it can slide up and down the line would work better the rig can then twist and turn without the weight of the boilie being attached to it and as i said the stiff line allows the rig to sit upright nice work
  15. Also when i did a search for fish spy i ended up with 1k threads with the word fish in them ... i think the search function needs a little work.
  16. I think its best use would to be able to drop floating goose eggs that you find into your neighbours swims so they vacate the area less lines in the water ... less pressure on the fish its a win win for me.
  17. Dont worry i didn't miss the pun i just thort it was so poor that i couldn't bring myself to comment ahahah
  18. Thinking of getting one i have fished a few places and no matter how many times i run my lead over them spots i cannot tell whats down there ... and im not talking about gravel , weed or silt etc etc There was an old pond i use to fish and people would dump stuff in there i once pulled out a full deck chair. And on another lake there was a snag spot that would instantly lock your lead up when pulling the lead back feeling the bottom. Would be good just to get the camera out and finally see what exists down there i also think you would spot some potiential dangers and could inform the bailiff if you come across anything. Ok yea and i would like a cheeky look for a clear area lol.
  19. Same i would love to watch baitdrone fails on youtube.
  20. I would if i didnt have dislexia mate.
  21. Not enuff cups for me i seem to catch more people with coffey than i do fish end up with a swim full of people really have thort about getting some people sacks and putting them in the edge. Does look a handy bit of kit thoe.
  22. Sorry ginge quick phone call and both lakes are closed to fishing now and have been since the last carp kill.
  23. I no the one i fished it as a kid to ... go the the bridge on the back lake there use to be some wooden beams sitting out the water dunno if the still there but the carp could always be found holding up there ... mabey 3-4 years back it had a blue alage bloom and alot of fished died in the back lake i see a good few 20s floating i think the back lake is finished. The front lake was largely unaffected i to have not seen anyone fishing it in a very long time so i dunno if you still can or not. I have seen a few lumps in there thoe 25+ a few years back i reckon they are still there mabey even bigger now ... weed is a problem in summer months.
  24. The only reason i put a buffer bead at the bottom is because there will be a knot there tied to a swivel and the bait ring might get caught on it also on the cast the bait will be sitting there so a bead will just offer that bit of protection like you said probley not needed just piece of mind thing really. I could like you said also use foam.
