  1. Rhis is what it looks like out of water
  2. Wow i had a frank warwick moment mines abit different but same result nice find mate thats gotta be one boyant pop up to hold that rig putty up and the hooklink ... my idea is that the putty sits on the lakebed so takes the strain out the pop-up But i think mine is still a fail as cloud 9 suggested the weight of the popup would mean that would be sucked in first and leave the hook entering backwards ... i believe my rig taken from above would work but not from the side.
  3. So i have tied it up (a few times) the issue with the hooklink not bein stiff enuff is now solved i used some korda iq2 in 20lb wich is stiff enuff to make the rig sit upright in cojunction with the popup holding the rig up aswell. I then had an issue with the hook not sitting right flopping to one side a small piece of shrink tube sorted this out the rig now sits right. The only problem i have is it just looks blooming wrong haha.
  4. I will tie it up and post it mate no problem
  5. Yea i like it bolt rig float lol its pretty much that ill put a pic up when i dig it out for a laff
  6. I do have a self hooking float when float fishing using smaller hooks for fish feeding off the bottom probley already been done. Its just a round disk that ive glued on a float shot it down untill the disk just sits off the surface when you get a bite the disk slaps the water and the fish gets hooked its really quite simple.
  7. I would call this rig in mythbusters fashion BUSTED haha.
  8. Very true aswell good thinking
  9. Yes i see what you mean a long shank is a heavy hook when you come to think of it now ... basically the pop-up on a choddy is making it sit right and here it dont have that ancore holding up hmmm.
  10. Thats exzacly why i posted it just to hear peoples thorts and how they would change it or rectify a problem and some good pointers already.
  11. Ive not tested or even tied this rig up just a random one that took 5 mins of thort and 2 mins to destroy its working lol
  12. You could test this in the margin you can always add or take away cork to get it to sit right.
  13. Stiff fluro 25lb steamed straight tied knotless knot will keep it straight with ease.
  14. Gardener high definition 12lb
  15. For Most of my fishing over dead leaf or really silty bottoms i use a stiff hinged rig and around a 10 inch hooklink on a heli setup Imo the best setup around for this type of fishing. Thoe depending on how soft the clay is when fishing over clay i may switch to an inline system if the clay is pretty hard if its soft i will use a heli but with a lighter lead.
  16. Btw my drawing does it no justice it looks like a size 2 hook and a 10mm lol
  17. Created this its abit barmy and goes against the grain on rig concealment but my idea is that with todays camo hooks and watching alot of carp feeding footage are the carp really that concerned by the hooks half the time they seem more focused on the bait. I've seen alot of small particals bein used above the hook on a hair and the hook stands out the bait is not concealing the hook at all yet people still catch fish. This rig goes one step further the hook is above the bait this for me does a few things. A. With the bait being below the hook the carp will without a doubt get the hook in its mouth i have seen alot of footage of carp mouthing the bait and dropping the rig again just picking up the boilie not even touching the hook. B. The hook is the first thing to enter and does not have any bait getting in the way when being ejected also i have incorperated a blow back section making it even harder to eject. Also i have used a curved long shank to give it the agressive angle as you want the stiff fluro section to be dead straight so the blow back works also i used that patten to give a gap between the hook and the bait as you dont wanna be sinking your hook into it on the cast. Is it barmy , do i need help and yes i was twiddling my thumbs as im not on the bank and pretty much been tieing up some rigs for my next outing and was bored.
  18. Looks good to me yonny ill give them a try
  19. Im not using a leader there banned on my waters yonny
  20. This is what i have been using ... sits pretty nice above the korda dropper ... also i use the gripper version in weed as i find the sliding one can leave the hooklink suspended in the weed my casting is not perfect and sometimes you might miss that clear spot and dnt wanna re-cast due to disturbance in the swim i like keeping that to a minimum ... i always cover my hook point with pva nugget.
  21. That would be great if i could get away with it but im fishing in weed alot of it and i need to drop the lead or i run a higher risk of a weed ball on my lead im using the korda lead drop atm as its working well ... i tried the nash lead drops but they are total rubbish as soon as you reel in it drops the lead on a minimal tug pulling back throu the weed the korda ones much better but i still drop the odd one now and then. The thing is with the korda ones is you have to tie to a swivel ... i could loop to loop as suggested but i dnt have much faith using mono loop to loop style on a swivel ... i normally use a palomar knot for all my swivel tieing ... this is why i wanted a quick change for the chod hooklink itself so i dont have to keep tieing the lead dropper on and off.
  22. Sorry to carp on but has anyone used a quick change with a chod ... i see nash do that twirly thing that sits on the bead but i dnt like the idea of it
  23. Thanx yonny thats all i needed to know.
  24. Hi does anyone no what size the o ring swivel is that sits on the chod barrel bead made by nash the only ones i have found made by nash look abit on the small side. Also what is the standard size if there is one Thanx in advance Dean.
