That looks right enough. Moisten and pull tight. With braid I use a groove on the handle of my boilie drill to hold the hook by the bend when snugging it up so I don't accidentaly run it into my finger.1 point

Yes it is; although a lot of people no longer tuck it through the second loop. You can also get a crimper. Much easier than tying a knot with stiff material (Especially with cold hands ) and much easier to get the rigs exactly the right length.1 point
