cobleyn
Just finished Bill Cottams book. Great read, some good tales that normal anglers can relate to about early days fishing, through an angling career progressively catching bigger and more sought after fish. Definately not a "I sat for 300 days without a bite" book, or "heres the latest fantastic rig, rod, reel that I owe all of my success to". canontroop
I thought it was absolutely utterly rubbish! Totally un-entertaining! Just goes to show how opinions can vary. Hutchies 'Carp Along the Way' books which I read after Bill Cottams are a great read. There isnt a page goes by when you dont laugh!
salokcinnodrog
I read Behind the Rods, and I have to say it was a book I wanted to finish. It took me 2 evenings from start to finish While it is a carp fishing related book, and those I will read, I don't think it will be a classic. Must admit though that the grammar is a lot better than many carp articles in the magazines.
