fishingaddict Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Anyone got easy ways to get hooklink coating off hooklinks like snakebite etc. I can do it but not sure i'm doing it particulary well. Therefore, I would be grateful for some help. Cheers! Tight lines and all that... Quote

salokcinnodrog Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 I just use a Thumbnail. If you get a pair of those plastic Child Safety scissors they are supposed to be good for breaking the coating. Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 I use my nails to, if its a cold day its a good idea to let it soften in some hot water before trying to strip it:) Quote
smithey1818 Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 im using korda hybid the coating on it is very strong i cant strip it with my nail I also use Hybrid a lot, and do find it difficult to strip the coating back. The only way you can really do it is by your teeth. Not used Hybrid for long, but apparently my mate says that it used to be much softer, so they must have changed something in the coating material. To not damage the braid, I usually use the gaps between my teeth to pull the braid through - difficult to explain! Quote
dazdman Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 or steam it with a kettle and strip it back Quote
