Guest Anonymous Posted February 14, 2006 Report Share Posted February 14, 2006 you dont have to use it but i would, it helps to protect your line in the area of your rig and also more importantly it protects the flanks of the fish as you play them. elmoputney Posted February 16, 2006 Report Share Posted February 16, 2006 hi all id just like to ask a bit about rig tubing if i may im used to using leadcore but its banned but i can use braided mainline with tubing(min 36") and i want some that sinks like a brick and stays pinned down as when i have used it in the past i have checked it in the margins and its looked horrible coiling up and sitting off the bottom and i guess that might be due to trapped air in the tube or something how do you get rid of that so it sinks and what will work well and look good on a weedy gravel bottom any help would be great on this one all the best elmo:D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mick1396 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Share Posted February 16, 2006 Ok mate,I think the silicon ones are the smallest bore,and they are the most supple,and make sure you get a tube threader as because the bore on theses ones is so small when you`ve used it a couple of times it will get silt inside and trying to thread it without one will drive you mad. Sticks to the lakebed like sh1t to a blanket, as they contain tungsten. mick1396 Posted February 19, 2006 Report Share Posted February 19, 2006 The minimum is about 4 inches longer than the length of your hooklink,so that if it does wrap round it will slide off,that`s the theory anyway,but you can use more if you feel comfortable with a longer bit.
