Has anybody tried some of this stuff yet? I can't really understand the point of braid coated flurocarbon, unless im missing something?

Yeah m8, got some a couple of weeks ago.

 

It's meant to be a stiff rig is'nt it, but braid on the outside to camo it better.

 

Use it with pop ups.

 

I laid my rig in the margins and it looked good to me

oh right, the braid is fo camo purposes only? but isnt flurcarbon less visible than braid anyway?

Thats what I thought mate, I can't really see the point of it!

yeah m8 thats what im tryin to figure out, braid coated flurocarbon is gonna be stiff all the way through and to camo the flurocarbon is pretty backward.

Exactly! if flurocarbon is invisable than why cover it in braid?

the only way that I can see it being worth using is for abrasive reasons, to protect the fluro inner when fishing over muscle beds or something. Other than that it just sounds like a gimmick to me.

Yeah I agree with that, braids are supposed to be thin, a braid over a fluro line must be quite thick.

You remove some of the flourocarbon from the inside so you get the hinged effect, same as you do with the other coated braids:)

rriiigghhhtt, sounds awkward, I'll stick with flurocarbon coated braids.

Really mate, it's simple to use.

 

Just slide back the braid, cut off the length of stiff stuff then attatch your hook, easy:)
