brutalbaz Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 hi has anybody got any experience of bounty lakes near le mans thanks, bazzer Quote
johnhere Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 I have fished Bounty lake about 5 times. Hard fighting Carp, no monsters but if you want to bend a rod a few times a day with Carp up to 40lb then you can’t go wrong. If you want monsters then you have the Cats to go for, the record is 106lb. Just make sure you hold on tight lol This year they have new bailiffs and new showers and wc’s being built. Excellent value for the money. If you want to know more then get back to me. John Quote
brutalbaz Posted December 20, 2007 Author Report Posted December 20, 2007 thanks man just what i wanted to hear in process of booking for next year any suggestions for tackle i.e catfish never caught one before its my next personnal challenge ,cheers bazza Quote
johnhere Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 What date are you booking and how many of you are going? For the Cats minimum 3lb tc rod and I use braid 20lb should see you ok but 25 would be better. Many use live baits on a dumbbell rig but I use halibut 22 mm or bigger pellets. Going to try the new Smartbait 35mm next time I go. Fish them on a hair rig 3\4\5 on the hair. Large cat hook you will be able to buy some there next year can’t remember the size sorry BUT big lol Put about 6 in a PVA bag or better if you have a bait boat use that to get your rig and feed out. Then sit back and wait lol. When they go they go like a torpedo (not that I have ever hooked a torpedo). Cats really fight hard but once on the bank play dead. Use leather garden glove to pull them out the water using a large mat. They do not have teeth only pads like velcro but before you or a mate puts their hand in the mouth to grab bottom jaw make sure there are no other rigs where other anglers have been snapped up. Don’t forget Cats can swim backwards! Hope that is of help John Quote

fishingswampie Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Perhaps Johnhere should also have mentioned he is something to do with this lake. Quote
johnhere Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Just like to set the record straight. Up until the 23rd December my only interest in the venue was as a paying guests and my postings are 100% based on my fishing experience at the venue. I became friends with the owner and I did help the owner out and we did talk about becoming partners. I am pleased to say that on the 23rd December 2007 we sat down and came to an agreement and I became 50% owner of the venue as from that date. Should anyone else ask about the venue I will of course state my interest. I hope that has cleared the matter up. Tight lines wherever you fish in 2008 John Quote
babarracuss Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Fished Bounty when it first opened Top venue - well looked after Had a 45lb cat 10 mins after first cast As far as carp went - honestly couldn't get 3 rods in at once during darkness hours. Biggest fish mid twenties then but its doing 30+s now Quote
pauline59 Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Perhaps Johnhere should also have mentioned he is something to do with this lake. Fishingswampie perhaps he should have mentioned he was something to do with the lake long before he now says that he is. All those trips advertised with people dropping out and spaces available at late notice, yeah right!!!! Still it was a novel way of beating the forum advertising standards, at least now he has let everybody know is association with the venue, no more free advertising then John!!! Anyway John good luck with your fishery!! Quote
johnhere Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 “ALL THOSE TRIPS advertised with people dropping out and spaces available?” I will say it again up until the 23th December I had NO financial interest in the venue. I also cannot recall ever advertising the venue on this forum by name. I have tried to advise guys who asked to know more and the advise I have given has been as a fellow angler who has paid to fish the venue 5 times. The original poster of this thread asked if anyone had any experience of xxxxxx. I replied as an angler who had fished it as indeed so is my 2nd post. I have also given advise on many other venues I have fished (on this and other forums) and will continue to do so where a venue I believe has the facilities the poster is asking about. Only last week (on this and other forums) a venue owner blatantly (making out he was just an angler) plugged their venue saying he had fished it a number of times and went on even praising the couple who ran it......... which in fact it was themselves! I would be interested to know pauline59 if you have indeed any connection with a venue? Quote
heratige Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 i have read what has been written and i have to agree with jonhere ,he has given good advice to many people on numerous ocasions and by the fact that people seem to have a problem points to them having ulterior motives .if people where more easily parted with there advice on venues they have fished and passed it on ,maybe we would all catch more and have good experiences . but thats just my opinion of which i am entitled . pauline59 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 That's fair enough John, I wish you every success in your new venture. Quote
