Old school Posted August 14, 2018 Author Report Posted August 14, 2018 Was going to try mallard lake, just any info you have on the place? Quote

Find some fish (not hard, it's only a little water) and bait a spot. Plenty of clear areas towards the middle. Put two rigs on it and await the action. If that doesn't work switch to zigs. Keep your eyes on the margins too. Some swims are very close together so three rods can be too much imo. A third rod chucked down the edge can't hurt though. Careful of the marginal weed though. The swims either side of the reeds in the north east corner tend to be fantastic but they can all do hits tbh. The bank on the west side is particularly good in the margins when it's warm. The trickiest bit is getting on the fish when it's busy but there's always a chance. Quote
Old school Posted August 14, 2018 Author Report Posted August 14, 2018 Thanks for that I’ll try and find the fish and look for those swims, how close together are we talking? Need to get a two man bivvy in as well, is that going to be too big? Quote

The_Viking_Angler Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 Yeah same here, i'd love to see a write up of your session mate. Quote
yonny Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 I did a write-up of a session on Stanwick in the catch reports last April but it's not what you guys want to read - it was a nightmare, stuff getting nicked, couldn't get on fish..... it's never normally that bad so I won't post it as it'll put you off! cloud9 and The_Viking_Angler 1 1 Quote
