onelastcast Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 I want to put some shrink tube on my fluorocarbon knotless hair rigs. Will dunking the hair rig in boiling water weaken the BS of the fluorocarbon? Quote
tigernuttom Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 no i dont think so, but just to be sure, you could always just steam the shrink tube, and not dnkt the whole lot in boiling water?? Quote
onelastcast Posted June 8, 2007 Author Report Posted June 8, 2007 Thanks guys. That sounds good. I was just a bit worried that any heat on fluorocarbon could damage it's strength. Cheers Jack Quote
tonybranno Posted June 10, 2007 Report Posted June 10, 2007 I honestly dont think that you need shrink tubing on flourocarbon hooklinks. The stiffness of the hooklink material coming back out of the eye of the hook will give you the desired effect you are after. Quote
neilscatchin Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 Tony's right, the majority of anglers incooporate shrink tubing to help the hook turn and when tied with something like the knotless knot where it exits on the point side of the eye,it naturally flips the hook into position. Quote
carperdude3d Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 i dont like flourocarbon i think it will sit up off the botom funny but i would use shrink tubing either lol Quote
Guest fenboy Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 As an avid flurocarbon fan i can assure you there is no need to use shrink tube the stiffness of the flurocarbon when tied with a knotless knot will give an angle to turn the hook so why complicate things. Also there should be no problems with presentation as it will kick out from the lead and sinks like a brick. Quote
