Im pretty sure im right but wanted you to confirm this 

When buying a reel such as a Daiwa Crosscast  5500 , or 5000 the only difference is the 5500 takes more line on the spool than the 5000 ,the reels are the same size though

I like their rods sea and fresh , i have the TLD reels for sea and they are great still as good as they were 15 + years ago , you buy a new TLD now and you will be lucky to get 3 years out of it , its their internal components that let them down now, hence why i wont look at new Shimmy reels .

I had a pair of Shimano Hyperloop 2.75lb FA's and they were a cracking pair of rods... I used 'em in France and they were brill... bit dated now though.... I think I still have one up the shed... but their reels are superb... I have 5 Shimmies... a pair of old 5000RE and 3 XTE10000's  I won't part with 'em
