vwt4lee
Tempted to try a new venue local to me next week after a few guys recommended it but haven't fished it this year. Anyone fished it in the last few weeks & had success? Any info would be great Lee

johnplumb
It means nothing that nobody has posted , turn up and fish it . Im guessing it should be quiet on a Wednesday have a quick look around if you see no fish then fish a swim that looks fishy , keep the rods spread around , if you see fish cast to them or move . What could possibly go wrong good luck .

vwt4lee
Spoke to some local anglers who fish it regularly , it's seems to be a very tough pool with wary fish, the up side is that if you do catch a new PB is possible, plenty of big chunks up to 40 & all the carp below 10lb where removed So my plan is just to fish it by reading the signs & see what happens
jasoncoggins
Get on pegs 6 8 or 10, fish the margins or tight to the islands, but don't ignore the open water as it's a lot less pressured and often throws up a bite
vwt4lee
I've booked pegs 4,6 & 10 gives us great scope for baggin a big un
vwt4lee
Great day on the bank, 4 fish 13,14,14.4 & 16.1 lb all fell to floater chum biscuit using Korda intercepter float. Fish where all caught from the end bank under the willow trees by peg 1, quiet day on the pool with no other anglers till 4pm

I've only just picked up on this thread, sorry. I find the Riddings speci pool a bit of an enigma. It's either rammed or you're fishing solo. Summer weekends are often simple lunacy!  Have you looked at the top pool, right at the very top of the site? There are some fairly well kept secrets in there....not quite so secret now, of course . If you try it you'll see a line of reeds along the centre of the water. Cast as close to them as you can.  Ian
vwt4lee
Would that be the pool to the right if the speci pool? Loads of action on there during the day I fished, bite alarms going crazy! Didn't get to ask what was caught I just presumed it was small carp, May give it a shot next time I'm there
jasoncoggins
He means the folly pool, at the top end of the car park
