Ive looked on the interweb and had a search through our forum but is there any other venues near Wincanton apart from Todber and Coking Farm?

 

If there is any local knowledge out there it would be appreciated. Suggestions and thoughts on Todber or Coking would also be very well appreciated.

 

Im not looking for specific tactics advice or your best kept secret just a general point in the right direction.

 

I will be in the area fri 25 - sun 27th Jan 13.

The only venue I've fished is Todber in that area so can't help out with any others.

 

It does get extremely busy at a weekend, id recommend arriving the Friday to give you a chance to walk around and decide where you want to fish.

 

Big/little hayes hold some good carp, you can usually park right behind your peg (yes! Lazy I know!) small Fluro pop ups in solid bags usually produces.

I have fished at both locations , not much to seperate them , both have lakes for specialist fishing, ie: larger carp and catfish. On a personal note I prefer coking farm as I believe you have a better chance of catching in their specialist lakes.

I see the name kingcombe or something crop up around there, Wally's lake and a few others, but as I'm from the midlands I have no first hand experience.

 

This is no plug, but go to YouTube and look for Fishing Dorset. He has fished a fair few venues and caught from most too, have a look, you might find a venue to suit.
