welder Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 That's the large water not far from Dinas Mawddwy, isn't it? The times I've driven past there on my way elsewhere and never taken the time to have a look. One day... Ian Quote
travisbickle Posted June 21, 2012 Author Report Posted June 21, 2012 Its an amazing water Ian....was a valley that was flooded back in the early 1900s........worked overlooking it for a good while...some very funny stories from there....a chef wandering round in a four acre forest fire... naked... with a sausage on a fork etc ...but i digress....brilliant body of water that I have heard is throwing some surprises up.....location would be a major job on here Quote
jemsue5 Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Never heard of any carp from there but its a stunning pike and eel water. I would expect any carp to be livebaits from many years ago. Quote
nigewoodcock Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 Only up the road from me. Been out on it, cycled round, walked round and fished it. Never seen any signs of carp but always thought! What years were you there Del? My best mate worked in the kitchen on leaving college. Quote
nigewoodcock Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 Im not sure if I want these stories to be true or not, if you know what I mean!!! Quote

nigewoodcock Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 My mate was in the kitchen around the same sort of time - Pete Walpole? Used to love going out on the kayaks. Best fun was on their quads though! Quote
travisbickle Posted June 22, 2012 Author Report Posted June 22, 2012 the name rings a bell mate but not sure....never got out on the quads....was clay shooting up the hill at the traps in every and every bit of down time....its a lovely spot isnt it. Quote
geoff222 Posted July 25, 2023 Report Posted July 25, 2023 It's a fly only water... definitely No carp in it...Trout, maybe the odd pike or perch. Quote
