berners hall essex/Bayeswater and Lakeland fisheries

Recommended Posts

I was on Berners last season, the crayfish problem will always be there though as the water in the resevior is pumped a fair bit in the warmer months and replaced with water from the River behind (the roading) which in tern replaces the Crayfish that have been taken out. which is how they ended up in there in the first place.

imo better value for money else where

i gather 5 tons of them was taken out. there appears not to be a problem .

The water that is taken out is still be taken out in the summer by the farmer who owns the land. in the summer the lake drops quite a bit but by january its up to normal levels of 15 ft or so. Its a shame that the farmer does this but this is not unusual for a syndicated lake . (private fishery)
