dave_3
me and two pals are off to france sept 17th 2011. just wonderering where to go. i've been carp fishing 20 yrs and my pals only 2. so below are the requirements no smaller than 8 acres. a good head a 30.s. HUGE fish would of course be nice but not importaint no more than 6 hr drive from calles personly i'd rather fish for 1 monster than multiple 30's but my friends would shoot me if i took them to a solid lake. the lakes that look good so far are valley lakes, castle lakes and my favourite lac fisherbil. any recommendations would be great
moorsey
Hi Dave hope this might help. We have a 15 acre lake which is just under you preferred distance from Calais. The average size of our fish in 2010 was 33 lb and the stock for 2011 will include 120 thirties 35 forties and 12 fifties. We hope that a couple of the fish may break into the sixties but can't promise you that. If I can help any further please shout. Guest Anonymous
Keith, sorry to hijack the thread mate but I've just been (yet again but for longer) browsing your site and can honestly say that it's the best fishery site I've ever seen, I almost felt like I was fishing! Well done to you and your team

coops_northants
Dave i would definatley recomend Keiths Place. I have been twice and enjoyed every minute of it. Cracking water with cracking fish. Keith is a top host as well even if on the next trips he makes you listen to the repeated jokes. September is a fantastic time at Moorlands and the fish are absolute chunks which i am sure they will be much bigger again this year coming. I am hopeing to get out there for a week at some point in 2011 if i can make the time and if Keith will have me My description, "the carp holiday that ticks all the boxes"
ralphj
Hi Dave, another 2 to consider are Val Dore and Etang Brigueuil both quality waters with nice size fish.
Guest planchon
Hi, have a look at Etang de Planchon, the venue is about 6/6.5 hours from Calais (depends what route you take and how many stops you make). www.carp-fishinginfrance.com If you need any additional info, feel free to give me a shout, Kiran
iambunn
I have been Coops' partner in crime on both occasions to Moorland Fisheries, and cannot fault the place. Lovely looking lake, stunning fish, tasty grub and cringe worthy jokes...what more could a carp angler ask for? I too will be back some time soon if Keith allows
