staffs/worcs canal

ive just got home from my 1st overnighter on the staffs/worcs canal near wombourne, staffordshire, ive been baiting two spots every other evening for the last 3 weeks, then left it 4 days with no bait, the result, 2 tench, 1 bream and 4 carp the best hitting 15.4lb, not bad for 2 killo of bait me thinks anyone else tried the canals ?

cheers;keenook ; i think a lot more people should fish the cuts, theres some quality fish to be had, ps, i got bitten of twice ! on 12lb braid ? any ideas anyone?

Fishing over what baits, and how long was the hooklink?

I that case CB1 I have no idea If fishing longer rigs over mass particle then yes, but your set up sounds fine to me!

ive scaled all my terminal down to the min, because of the heavy silt, but ive fished this drennan braid on rivers for years with no probs, i was thinking eels?

What type of takes are you getting on these bite offs???

single bleeps, small bobbin movement, like bream. not the usual bouncing like eels! do when hooked in rivers.

CB1, sorry I can't help! I've been a Carp angler for over 25 years and only had one bite off ever! Why not start another thread on bite off''s?

can only be pike really or maybe zander..catz can do this but i think youd know if you had one of them on

Sounds like eels to me but i have been bitten off by Chub in the past.

Probably chub, the staffs worcs is full of them. Congrats on the result a 15lber is good for the canal in the wolves area.
