  1. can only be pike really or maybe zander..catz can do this but i think youd know if you had one of them on
  2. saturday and from 8 in the morning sunday mate, the fish were catchable as a few came out but i reckon i just chose the wrong pegs and wrong tactics probably wrong baits too,was fishing inline leads with a short clear amnesia hooklink and pop up cell boilies on both days a lot of fish in the back bay on the far bank and in the corner opposite peg 8 by the willow the lad oppsite me landed two and lost a couple..seen a grass snake swimming across to the island too..which was nice
  3. two days one run ..peg 8 saturday and first right hand point sunday
  4. Keep it simple, Half a tin of luncheon meat hair rigged with a big hook and very strong hooklink, freelined or with a small 1oz running lead should do the trick.
  5. May have been better to stay put Matt they usually start feeding after about 5 and the strange takes may have been birds diving on yr baits, the moorhens have a way of just grabbing the boillie without getting hooked
  6. Was going to go down today but the cars died on me let us know how you got on
  7. Some beautifull fish there Nash, Surprisingly only one person did the night on saturday, went down on sunday afternoon and the lake was empty.....didnt have any carp but a couple of nice tench around 5lb.
  8. Very riggy fish in pine mate the water is like tap water, crystal clear and it takes a while to learn the water,i struggled for over a month before i started catching...great place though and worth giving it a visit, nice watching twentys swimming under your rod tips..even if they wont take your baits
  9. And be very carefull of the birds,if the moorhens see you putting bait in they will wipe out even bottom baits in no time at all,if the seagulls see you putting mixers in they will be on you in a flash..lol
  10. and whatever you do take some kind of insect repellant the mozzys can be a nightmare...its a nice place had my first pine twenty from there a few weeks back which was nice....
  11. Id go if they put some cats in there too ...
  12. Penk my mrs brought me some cheap insect repellent and that seems to keep em off for a while, costs about 50p a tin but smells like fly spray..ill ask her where she got it from.i saw a guy fishing on the point a few weeks back and he was just wearing a pair of black speedos or something..bit strange i thought but he must have been in agony the next day..serves him right.
  13. i have given up putting free floaters out and just fish a single floater if the fish are taking bits of the top, other people ive chatted to fill the birds up with floaters first before putting their baits in but theres that many moorhens and coots on the pool it would cost a small fortune everytime i went...and was the guys name bob by any chance ?? and how did you get on with the mozzies i get murdered by them every time i go ?
  14. Think the weather is just to hot at the moment, they just seem to like cruising around, i was there monday evening and there were loads of fish moving but just cruising, from what i can gather most fish come off the top at this time of year...
  15. Good luck with the overnighters lads
  16. nice result mate, popped down monday evening loads of fish in the first corner of the back bay but not feeding..moved pegs to the island as they vacated the corner and a few were cruising round the island but to no avail, what peg were you fishin ?
  17. Anyone go over the weekend and how did u get on ???
  18. yeah i know, but as already mentioned may be time to try another peg, always fancied the small bay where the scum gathers just along from the car park pegs usually see a few fish there.
  19. Nate you found anything more about plantsbrook i live very close to it and to be honest didnt even know it was there, ill take a walk round at some point and see what i can find out, even if theres no carp might be handy for a bit of pikin later in the year.
  20. might pop down on sunday afternoon ill be in peg 8 if its free lol
  21. may fish to the far bank of the back bay next time as i hardly ever see anyone fishing there, maybe from one of the pegs on the right side of the point, feel more comfortable fishing to a far margin than a near margin because of the clarity of the water.fishing near margins in that clarity of water is out of my comfort zone at the moment id get frustrated watching a couple of boilies for hours on end
  22. yep penk, peg 8 was hoping for a twenty but never came, fished using a method mix round the lead and very short clear amnesia hooklink straight into the marginal weed, the 16 took me straight into the reeds and locked me up so i slackened off and had a cup of tea untill he decided to come out
  23. Went down for a session today and landed 3 carp, 12,16 and 17 and a bonus 5lb tench most enjoyable
