pte1643
Why not use a "Figure of Eight" knot to tie the mainline to the Spliced loop on the Leadcore?

pezza
Or if you are not sure try the new esp leadcore rigs, they are quality and not to pricey either.
salokcinnodrog
hi all i know how to splice 1 end of my lead core but how do i splice my main line and my lead core together.just a little bit confussed Best Way I have found is to have a Spliced Loop at both ends. You can attach your Rigs via Loop to loop and also simply Grinner Knot or Uni the other Loop to your MainLine. The best knot really for Leadcore is probably the Needle Knot, where the Mainline goes inside the Leadcore and out the Side and is then knotted. I think all Rig Bits will Slide over this Knot
mvodkaman
needle knot is deffinately the best and neatest although being a lazy so and so i always end up using the gardner ready looped ones .... heavy enough a probably the lowest dia on the market .......... courtz
i tie mine with a grinner knot as i find too much weed catches in a loop the loop i would use the needle knot but it takes too long, and i mainly just use it when i have time before the session to get the kit upto scratch. beeso
erm what about water knot
pezza
I use 6 foot usually and I join it to the main line with a needle knot.
armopoint
I also use 6ft and the only way in my mind to join leadcore to mainline is by the needle knot
salokcinnodrog
erm what about water knot NO CHANCE, NOT WITH LEADCORE! It creates a Horrible join that things could snag up on and create a Death Rig. The size of a Knot on Leadcore, even with the Inner Removed is a lot larger than a Standard knot in Mono
neilscatchin
I think a heli-style large eyed swivel would struggle/fail to pass over a water knot so a standard swivel such with a running lead could prove fatal Needle knot is by far the safest
