  1. Cheers nige, I knew there was something going on moon wise
  2. I'm definitely on fish, their boshing out over the far bank, we keep hearing them jump, that unmistakable slapping of the tail then a big crash down
  3. There must be a recent hatch, the surface was alive with insects, plus I think it's a full moon either tonight or tomorrow.
  4. Pre bait, then fish singles or stringers mate, maybe even paste around your bait. I'm just sitting in front of my brolly right now, watching and listening. Coffee in one hand, kangertech in the other
  5. Any chance of you getting to your water a couple of days before you fish?
  6. Nothing ventured nothing gained, one thing is for sure, you won't catch anything at home. Even if I just end up prepping all winter at least I've been out and enjoyed winter
  7. 4oz steve I'm not thinking as short term as winter, this is all prep for next year, and yes, I've seen more fish here than anywhere or anyone else. A lot are asleep by 9, I'm up listening
  8. Cheers muft I've just gotten all that bait out, just having a quick vape while these soak
  9. Take a look on youtube fella, I'm sure this is where Matt Hayes and Mick Brown both caught 60lb+ Catfish in Wet Nets
  10. Cheers mate, I shall report from the bank tomorrow, not using any oil, there's plenty of liquid in the mix already. Blended up corn does kick up a bit, got that one off Julian Cundiff
  11. Steve, there's two kilo there to be spread over a largish area, this is nothing, I've been baiting the same spot for nearly eight weeks now, it's slowly getting primed, I'm in no rush, although I would like one fish before christmas
  12. Liquidised Corn, Evaporated Milk, half a kilo of pellets, a kilo of boilie and a good dose of matching liquid. Proper stinks, but if I'm going to tempt one of these elusive fish I need to attract as much as possible
  13. Yeah, thought I'd slip it in, see if anyone noticed lol
  14. Could do, I'll make a wooden platform with adjust legs in each corner just to sit the pod on
  15. Pack stuff under your bedchair, it's stops cold air circulation, use an army blanket on top of your groundsheet, it stops the cold coming through. Get a twinned skin bivvy, the gap in between the two layers provides a thermal breathable barrier. Get a thermal all in one, all the supermarkets do them. Thermal layers, a decent bag, a decent bedchair cover, hats, gloves, thermal boots, water bottle, masturbate, don't buy one of those heaters, there dangerous and not cost efficient.
  16. I've had the same Jon, I even put the rods on, but when it all gets outside it all goes to poo, that's why I'm thinking of getting a subcontractor in to do it for me.
  17. Now that temp has come down, it's all about liquids and stodge now
  18. One of these should be ok As it emits a red light, it shouldn't spook any fish, and it'll look lovely in my tackle bag along with my massive peg mallet
  19. I was considering buying a laser level, maybe a tape measure just to make sure.
  20. Get a water bottle; localised heat is much more productive. You know the dangers, but what you may be unaware of, bivvys and brollys covered in dew or rain can't breath, sure have the bivvy open, personally I wouldn't risk it,
