  1. Hi everyone me and my mate were going to fish adams at cobbleacre tomorrow as I was told even though its cold we stood a good chance of a fish or 2 but just found out they've got a match on so cant fish there. Can anyone suggest anywhere else around Norwich were we stand a reasonable chance of a fish or 2?. Thanks.

    running rig

Yes when I used a stick all was well but because of the time of year and everyone telling me not to overfeed a few times I threw the rig out without a stick and it was a few of those times it was coming back in tangled

Yes your set up sounds exactly the same as mine, as you say I haven't been using rig booms so that might be worth a try, thanks.

Ok thanks that would be good, just had a look at run rings and I will have to pick some up and give them a go

    running rig

I was threading the mainline through the weight swivel then threaded a swivel cover thing on then connected it to the hook link swivel. Then pushed the swivel cover down to cover the swivel. Hope that makes sense

    running rig

Hi guys I was using a running rig last sat and using some hair rigs which I tied myself out of mono but every few casts when I reeled in, the hook length was wrapped around the main line or the weight, what was I doing wrong?
  9. Hi Tim went to shallowbrook my local lake and had one fish and my arm was aching and the rod was bending more than ever before so thought 'great its a biggie' then it came off! As you can imagine the air was blue!!!
  10. Thank you they made an interesting read. Hope the rats are gone, I hate them!!
  11. Hi everyone I want to fish a day here in the next few weeks and probably go on Grove lake. Has anyone fished it or know what its like? Thanks.
  12. Just found out about this lake, has anyone fished it or know what its like?. Thanks.
  13. Just to let you know Tim has contacted me and he is going to post the stick to me so hopefully sorted now till I can get some chubb bars. Just wanted to say a big thank you to you both for all your help and advice.
  14. As im sure you've realised im only a beginner to carping [although been coarse and sea fishing for 35yrs] and have never had a bivvy before so didn't really know what I was looking at when he showed me. I paid £30 for it including I think its called the over wrap [its like another cover which goes over the bivvy].
  15. Im in Norwich, Norfolk so not sure if im near either of you to be honest.
  16. Thanks Ian, if you do find it I would be very grateful for it so let me know please, it will get me going till I can get some chub bars sorted out. Thank you
  17. Yes I was being a numpty haha, found some now thank you.
  18. Thanks guys for all your help. I don't know if im being a numpty but done a search for telescopic bivvy braces but cant find any.
  19. Now you've got me intrigued, what other way? I have sent jrc spare parts an email so hopefully they will reply tomorrow and let me know if any spares are available.
  20. Thanks for the reply and yes that's what I thought. All the other poles are like you said, elasticated fold up poles. Is there anywhere I can buy a replacement?
  21. Hi guys I recently bought a jrc defender bivvy off gumtree and tried to put it up today but cant figure it out. Its got 3 sets of poles which go side to side [think they call it pram effect] and they go together ok but theres a sleeve which runs front to back on centre of the bivvy but no poles. Are these poles missing or is the sleeve for something else?
  22. Thanks for the info. Yes will try the far end and we are meeting at 7 down there so hopefully early enough to get a decent spot, im not keen on fishing a busy lake myself but its my mates choice this time, next time I will pick somewhere a bit more quiet and I agree what you said about the carp lake, its lovely, will have to give it a try. Will let you know how I get on.
  23. Just a small update ive just spoke to my mate who im going with and he said we might fish Meadow lake so any info on carping on this lake would be appreciated too. Thanks.
  24. Hi everyone, am fishing this lake for the first time on Friday, anyone know how its fishing or any tips? Thank you.
  25. Hi everyone just wondered if anyone has fished here or know what its like? Me and some workmates are thinking of booking it up for 24hrs in June for a works fishing jolly.
