  1. I can see where your coming from. It will still be popular with holiday anglers, but like you say the 'hardcore' anglers will loose interest. The locals, like myself, will loose interest as well. To be honest I have already lost interest in the leisure/pleasure lakes they are too heavily fished for my liking. That's why I fish Stanninghall and Hevingham lakes now. But for the bigger carp Cobbleacre - Mario's is still the best place near me. The layout is also quite nice there. It will be a shame if they do swap the stock around a bit
  2. Hi, This is not strictly going to happen but word has it cobbleacre will be taking on a few changes in coming months. It has been suggested they net the two main carp leisure lakes Adams and Alex's. All fish in excess of 10lb from Adams lake will be moved into Mario's specimen lake. All fish in excess of 5lb from Alex's will be moved into Adams with any over 10lb put into Mario's lake. So to cut to the chase, if you want to catch a carp over 10lb you will have to fish Mario's Specimen lake. So Mario's lake sounds like its going to get better! But will it really? with the ever increasing number of Catfish in Mario's and this possible addition of all double figure carp surely it will stunt the growth of the specimen fish. Sure your chances of getting a run will be much higher but your chances of catching a PB are decreased..... Don't quote me on this, because it might not happen and hopefully will not happen. I haven't heard it from Bob so cant know for sure. If this does happen though, I can see Cobbleacre swiftly loosing popularity. Which is a shame because I quite like the place. Hopefully some one can tell me what I have said isn't true
  3. Thanks for that I have already read that topic, I was hoping some one had some tips for this lake in particular. None the less I appreciate you taking the time to reply thanks again!!
  4. October Catch Reports: In recent days at Stanninghall lakes Norfolk the bigger fish have been showing. In the past three weeks fish have been caught in upper doubles 15-19lb with some better fish at 20 and 22lb coming out too. However the weekend just gone saw a stunning 26lber on the bank!. So the big fish have been pulled out recently! Hopefully a good sign. My turn: Ive fished Stanninghall lakes Norfolk several times now with a mixed bag of results. On the main lake during the summer we had several nice double figures, all absolutely stunning fish! but nothing bigger than 15lb. But since the weather has turned cold, things have became a different ball game. I and a friend spent saturday down there and totally blanked...not even a single run. My friend stayed the night and managed to bank a 5lb common...not quite what we wanted :/ Does anyone have experience fishing this lake, because we clearly need some tips on how to fish this during the winter. Please help me all advice welcomed having another go this weekend hopefully!
  5. Hi, Just really wanted to see if anyone had experience on this complex. I myself have only ever fished the Meadow lake and ive only match style fished this with some family members. I am heading there on friday to do a spot of carp fishing (before I get the pike fishing bug again) All I really want to know is what baits are effective there for the bigger carp. My cousin fishes it and has struggled on boilies. I was planning on using luncheon meat capped with corn. Or peperami capped with corn. Also is meadow lake any good for the larger carp 10-20lb+ All tips welcomed
  6. Hi, I am off fishing with a friend. We are planning on going to hevingham lakes (Norfolk) and doing a day there. We have fished it before, but it seem quite slow....however the only carp of the day was 18lb so it wasnt a wasted trip! Last time we fished it we simply used a range of boilie flavours with a method feeder (party mix + BrownCrumb). Any tips or advice on carp fishing here would be greatly apriciated. I noticed parts of the lake were very shallow so wasnt sure if it would be worth fishing on the surface? Hope some one can offer some good advice. Many thanks
