  9. brilliant thank you all so much thats really helped and cleared a lot up only thing im stuck on now is rigs iv heard a lot of talk on popped up bait etc would it be sufficent to use a abrasive resistant hooklink to a specific cat hook and a long hair with maybe seafish ie mackeral or something seen a good tip of using a section of line with a button on the bottom threqading it through the bait then tying it on the hook and using a bit of elastic band onto the hook to stop it sliding off
  10. i know there not carp but wondered if anyone had any tips aand pointers as never fish outright for these species a local sydnicate im joining beggining of next year has a good head of carp and a huge head of wells catfish up to 58lb was wondering if my 3.25 test lb rod and 18lb daiwa sensor line wouldd be sufficent i have no idea on rigs or anything any help would be gratefully appreciated
  11. I don't believe there illegal but a lot have lakes have banned them I always use a barbless hook less damage to the fish and if they break off at least the hook will leave eventually and not have to rust away I went to my local day ticket yesterday banned barbed my first fish a small 5 lb ghost lo and behold had a huge size 4 long shank barbed hook in its gob
  12. I usually have a bucket of water next to my spod nix as I load my spod wash my hand in the bucket of water and splash the reel at same time never cracked off
