  1. Hi mate, Standard ledger tactics, I'd go with spam or boilies as there are loads and loads of roach, rudd and perch in there, a big piece of bread would do the job though.. The biggest fish I've seen out came off the flat bank side although I've caught on the sloping side it's a bit of a job to get set up there. Behind the island is a no-fishing zone, and the carp regularly patrol in and out so they can be targeted in the channels either side. Hope this helps Cheers
  2. Hi Inter, sorry only just seen this. Advice on the camping or fishing?
  3. I've stayed at Fir Tree in Warmington. Nice campsite and good carp fishing, the lake isn't huge but there are some high doubles in there and some lovely Koi too. Sadly no night fishing. There is an falconry display/bird sanctuary on site, but no other children's activities. Get the kids fishing, the lake is absolutely stuffed full of roach, rudd and perch, it's how I got my daughter into it.
  4. Cheers for the info, will try and get on there next month once the clocks have gone on.
  5. Can you give me contact details for Canons Ashby? Visited the house and saw the lake, wondered if it was fishable.
  6. Hi Ray, did you catch the 22lb'er locally, I'm in Stratford and looking for good waters in the area too.
  7. Great post, just what we need on here, more please
  8. Clattercote Resevoir and Lavender Hall both night fish too.
  9. I've night fished Dog Lane, didn't catch any carp as they were spawning (should have checked first, schoolboy error ) Did have a couple of cracking sturgeon, 13lb and 10lb which scrap like a carp twice the size. As for Southam, there is a good chinky and a chip shop on the main drag through town, and Southam Country Stores sells pellets, boilies, groundbait and various tinned stuff like sweetcorn and hemp as well lots of pet foods in a pick'n'mix way that could be mixed into groundbaits. You forgot Bishops Bowl which is just outside Southam, they have night fishing on two lakes. Anglers Hideaway which is nearby too has night fishing but they don't have any carp over about 11lb according to the owner.
  10. Is your daughter at Southam College? My daughter is there and says there are fishing matches from time to time.
  11. Smatstots found this new fishery the other day by chance. They've only been open a year or so, no monsters yet but wondered if anyone had heard of it before or fished it? Looks like a nice enough place, and from the website it sounds as though the owners are enthusiastic anglers too.
  12. 10M of ESP Camo link was £4.50, ten size 6's £3.75 and ten swivels £2.50 so not far off the tenner I thought.
  13. Where do you live mate? And is Lavender Hall worth a chuck? Been thinking of trying there, what's it got in it?
