  1. Did you get anything from Wintons? I went once and ended up with a big fat blank. Moggies are something totally different. I wouldn’t want to fish for them all the time, but having a decent one on the line is like nothing else. Their power and stamina is at least double, probably treble that of our Carp. They do have a habit of pooing all down you when you pick them up though.
  2. Fair point. From what I've seen, the going rate for fishing cabins is normally about £500, but that one is about the best cabin I've seen.
  3. Sounds pretty good, and having a chance of a decent Cat adds a little spice to the trip. You caught cats before?
  4. Pricey yes, but after having another look at that cabin, it really is superb. It could just be the factor that persuades a very reluctant missus to come along.
  5. Just checked out the Blackthorn place and it does look lovely on the webiste, although maybe £600 is a little on the high side? Have you fished it?
  6. The thing is with carping, a lot of it is about confidence, and if deep down you don’t have confidence in the venue, you’re not going to enjoy your stay, no matter how nice the cabin is. Stand by for negative reports about the fishing at Waveney.
  7. Total respect to you Pete for being honest enough to admit you’ve changed your mind. I really do hope the gods of Karma smile upon you during your stay at Waveney.
  8. Aha, the case for the prosecution strengthens.
  9. Shillinglee is still a lump of ice, but I'm hoping it might defrost by friday. If so, I'll be doing Friday night. If not, I'll be looking for a day session somewhere. I might fancy a little turn on Passies. Let me know nearer the time.
  10. I do genuinely wish you good luck, and we will expect a full and unbiased report when you get back. When exactly are you going?
  11. And that place is only about 30 miles from linnear fisheries near Oxford. Know where I'd rather go. But then I go for the fishing, not for the Cabins.
  12. You know what they say about things that look too good to be true. . . . . .
  13. Apologies, it wasn't bish, it was fergie69. Personally, my fishing time is quite limited. I wouldn't want to take the chance of fishing somewhere like that, when I could fish at places I know contain decent fish, and are well, and honestly run. If you've got the time to waste, good luck to you.
  14. Do you really think the chap who created his Carp.com account just for the purpose of warning anglers about the poor fishing at this place, really did it to keep other anglers away? And bish_471985 has already supported everything he posted, not to mention all of the other negative stuff out there. Do you seriously think that all of this is some massive conspiracy to stop news of the weonderful fishing to be had there from getting out? Really?
  15. Good luck, but why would you? There are plenty of decent places to fish, why would you go to somewhere which is being universally panned? What's the point of forums like this working hard to help anglers avoid being ripped off if they ignore the advice? If they have removed, and possibly sold the better fish in the lakes without telling anyone, then they should be avoided at all costs.
  16. Don't know anything about Reading, it's a little too far in the wrong direction for me.
  17. They have a no publicity rule because there are some very special fish in some of their waters, especially Sinah, and I guess they don't want to attract too many of the wrong kind of angler.
  18. If you're Southampton based, have you considered Portsmouth AS? That's where I'm off to this year. They've got some amazing waters.
  19. I looked at joining Farnmham this season but everyone I spoke to about it said the club has just got too many waters. Turning up at the weekend and not being able to fish is quite common on most of their better waters. If you're going to be doing most of your fishing mid-week then it might be ok.
  20. Personally, I don't think you could do better than Linnear fisheries near Oxford. Massive place, loads of amazing waters and beautiful fish.
  21. I've heard a lot of good reports about it, but you have to be within 6 miles of Chichester to join.
