  1. I'm my opinion if I'm baiting over debris like you mentioned then I use half baits as they flutter down much slower than a whole bait ( if using boilies) which gives them a better chance of sitting on top of the chod.
  2. The only "runs" waters i can think of near me in the midlands are barston lakes, earlswood lakes and the obvious one drayton reservoir
  3. Me and a m8 went drayton on friday and was rammed big time..... there were hardly any pegs left at all on the left hand side but we did manage to find 2 empty 1s together 110-111 i think, anyway the water was really low and i had to wade out 15 foot to land and release the fish so make sure u take a set of wellies or waders with you. The fishing was slow to begin with in the morning and early afternoon with hardly anyone catching but as usual picked up around 3-4 oclock and at 7ish had 5 runs in 15 minutes 2 of the times i didnt even have time to clip the bobbin on and it was away. I dont really like these runs waters but i will be doing a night on there sometime in the near future
  4. What sought of size fish you after?
  5. Im going to spain in october to see family and fish a lake called torremendo, i fished the river that runs down to it before and had some nice fish out but couldnt really fish the large lake (just under 4000 acres) as i didnt have the appropriate tackle but i do know so watch out mr carp here i come
  6. try a domhorf knot as that only goes throught the eye twice
  7. theres loads in the blythe behind hams hall not very big tho maybe up to lower doubles
  8. I've never fished it before which is a shame cos i live 5 mins from there. I am gonna give it a good bash this year though and try and do the nights at the end of the month which they allow.
  9. There are plenty of clear spots its just a case of finding them. I walked round there the other day and seen a quite a few without the use of a marker rod. I'll be fishing up there on Saturday, I'll let u know haow i get on.
  10. well i had a walk round earlier after finding a route through all the bogs and marshes and looks very carpy, one of the lakes especially, crystal clear mostly gravel bottom but didnt see any signs of fish movement but was only there for 30 mins as the dark was closing in and we had to navigate our way back through. i think it needs another look
  11. I think i might have to go for a little walk round later on
  12. It certainly does, especially the lake on the bottom right hand side (the 1 with 6 odd islands) i bet theres a few hidden gems in them lakes
  13. also last summer me and calamity carper had 54 fish between us in 1 session all ranging up to about 18lb, in the same peg. ye that was mad session
  14. Hi guys, can any of you tell me any info about these lakes http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?ll=52.596062,-1.6852&spn=0.02904,0.084543&t=h&z=14 Just wanted to know who owned them and whether they are fisheries or not and whether they contain any carp. Anything would be great. Thanks guys
  15. Hi Paul, give fosters of birmingham a ring as i here they deal in quite a few syndicates.
  16. Its on one of them places your guaranteed to catch all year round. I went for a 24hr sesh when the ice had just melted and had 22or 23 fish out up to 18lb. I only had 1 fish in the night when I arrived and all the rest came in th day. I fished 2 rod lengths back from the fountain on peg 11. Hope that helps
  17. flying backleads will do it
  18. I use the esp bristle filament 15lb, I did use buy the 25lb first but just could not get it through the eye 3 times and was far to stiff imo, but the 15lb is just perfect.
  19. have a look on google earth.... i did it today and found a lake (very matured) that i doubt has ever been fished before and had fish showing whilst i was there. All i gotta do now is find who the owner is cos there aint any buildings near it. Have a look on there ull be surprised what you find when you zoom in
  20. ye i find this aswell...... dont get a bleep from 7 when u get there and then at 3ish all hell breaks looseand u wished u only brough 1 rod
  21. i know there is definitely 1 fish at 24lb 8oz which is a common (lake record) which my mate caught last month. Ive got the pics if anyone wants to see them. but other than that its got a really bad reputation DONT JOIN the bailiffs full of it aparently.
  22. i lived in spain for a number of years and drank water from the tap there although your not ment to because of all the chlorine in it but the spanish drink it cos there used to it. i never had a problem with it either apart from it tastes like swimming pool water and doesnt quench your thirst. The french water has got to be better than the spanish but probably still tastes funny lol. Drink bottled id say u dont want the trots when your there << thats the face u will being pulling on the bog
  23. alot of the places i fish on 24hr ticket in the midlands are all around £20-£25 for 24hrs.... it seems to be the going rate round here
