  1. Hi mate i wouldn't mind knowing a bit more about it myself if u can wring some help out of someone! One of the few lakes in east anglia i've never fished.
  2. Hi mate! Why there? There is so many nicer lakes in norfolk where the fish arent damaged and diseased and the baliff doesnt drive u BARMY keep going past in his quad bike. But if you do go, avoid peg 14 unless u like fishing in 20ft water! Pegs 7 to 10have a nice bar runnin along them. The high peg numbers from 29 to 32 are consistent. The fish really really follow the wind so get yourself as close to where the wind is blowing as possible. Hope that helps. I.ve caught there over a bed of particles and over scattered boilies and zigs. There's plenty fish in there, you've just gotta get ur rig in right place. Quite often thats 100yards out! Good luck
  3. Not sure if its the same now guys but when me and my brother used to fish championship lake (i was about 10yrs old so 16yrs ago!) we used to fish off the island tight to the far bank reeds with fruity pop ups. We used to have several in a day doin that. Quite a few 20's but millions in the 14lb bracket so have to wade through them to bigger fish. They like a floater round the back area too! As i say it is a long while ago but we found once u worked out what u gotta do its a cakewalk!
  4. Just spoke to my cousin. He reckons source pop ups outfish cell 2to1. Good luck.
  5. i used to fish the championship lake when we went camping there as a little boy. how do you get to fish that now? do you have to stay in a caravan or can you get a ticket another way?
  6. hey mate i'm based in ipswich and have fished it several times. my cousin is a night member there. its all source or cell pop ups against the reeds with a few freebies scattered. heavy silt so long hooklink. thats a guarenteed run every hour. try fishing against the stump halfway along. locked up tight and sit right on your rods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they do take floaters but theyr pretty finicky, especially the ghosties as every joker bangs a controller on their head
  7. shame. nice fishery nice fish. the old bloke geoff who used to own it was a top geezer too
  8. hi mate i've fished it loads of times. any dynamite boilies or maize is the killer. fished under the rod tips and keep REALLY quiet. its worth putting a rod out for the cats too! if you like cats they.r easy to hook in marios. they will wrap you round island though!!
  9. grove lake is taswoods runs water. it is £18 for 24hours. lots of fish up to high doubles. it is very weedy. catching them off top is really really easy! hope that helps.
  10. just a question about my all time fave venue- bure valley lakes. such a pity when it closed. i heard a rumour that it had opened again. anyone know for sure?
  11. Thanks guys. a double figure tench is quite an acheivement. I'm impressed. I think i'll stick on the harder lake though. I'm not worried about runs waters. i prefer to stick it out for a biggun rather than catch several doubles. Especially if its a looker and by all accounts that lake has some lookers!! Anyone fished that lake that has actually caught something?!!??!!?
  12. Hi guys. I am looking for a new water this year. I have noticed a12 lakes at Cuton near chelmsford. I have been on website and talked to owner but i thought i would ask if anyone has anything to say about it! Average fish size, difficulty, how many 20's,30's, does it fish well in february? anything would be appreciated thanks
  13. i am a big inline fan. use tham for 95% of fishing. Less tangles than lead clips and the fish is in more instant contact with the weight of the lead. with lead clips there is a slight resistance as it all pulls into line. not much difference but hey its the little things that make big differece. use what you are happy with and you will fish well
  14. free lining on surface can be an awesome tactic because very often the fish will notice the bait is drifting unnaturally because of the weight of the controller. it might not notice to us but it stands out a mile to them.
