  1. Rig im fishing with as i post this There's a size 8 swivel just out the picture . Iq2 with a very small bit of supernatural at the hookend including the hair which has a snowman presentation or a weighted down pop up on it .note the ridiculously angled shrink tube on the wide gape. Fishing in silt at the moment and its worked well for me recently.[list=]
  2. I'll probably get shouted down for saying this but i dont think that fishing pop up in a solid bag is the way to go. Imo (and there will be differing ones) a short 3 or 4 inch supple braided rig with a wafter OR pop up , with a shot to balance it on the deck, on the hair. To me , a pop up hovering above the freebies sticks out like a sore thumb . Depends on competition for food and how the fish feed i spose but i'd be wanting me hookbait to blend in with the bags freebies ? But thats just me . Welcome to the forum by the way .
  3. right first time john boy ...
  4. I'll add mine in the morning when its daylight . Its a bit chilly here tonight and i have a date with two pot noodles , a cup-a-soup and mike wilmott's carp life
  5. Look on the bright side . The only thing of more interest was the rig with the rubber gentle
  6. Cheers biggears Problem solved . I've been using the smilies on my iPhone instead of the forum ones . Now i know why people get the ump with me and think i'm serious
  7. Ahhhhhhh gotcha . How bout this ?
  8. Well you obviously havent noticed whatever it is that phil's talking about then dal
  9. Okay lads ?
  10. Yes mate keep it simple , knotless knot etc , running leads , you cant go wrong
  11. This is looking interesting . I take it thats a bottom bait ? yes mate , tie one, but only if you advocate using fake baits psss have you seen those maggot balls, wowsers Yep i find those interesting too . So much so that i'm waiting for mine to arrive in the post
  12. If i think something is interesting sir , then i think it is interesting . Sorry and all that....
  13. This is looking interesting . I take it thats a bottom bait ?
  14. Well done nick bumping this thread . A little reminder never hurts ... Whatever happened to moorsey ? Miss his input .
  15. They are proper dustbins mate , they'll eat ANYTHING !
  16. When cats share a lake with big carp ( there wont be any small carp
  17. Finally got you using the c word then nick ?
  18. Well theres food for thought there dal thats for sure . For more than 30 years in my fishing it was considered criminal to even contemplate fishing a hooklink that was heavier than the mainline , so i know exactly how you are thinking . When i fish with mono i tend to fish with 12 or sometimes even 10lb line but i wouldnt dare go with 8lb or lighter hooklinks unless i was surface fishing ? Im sure there must be a thread on here somewhere , im off for a look
  19. Well as ashamed as i am to admit it
  20. Im going to see the winter out with my fluoro mainline but when i go back to mono in the spring i'll probably use a sinker or two a yard or so behind the hooklink just for a bit of added confidence but imo most decent monos sink ok these days if you have the patience to pay off the line properly and wait for it to sink . Sometimes it half hour after the cast before i've flipped the bail arm over and set the bobbin .
  21. Well mate if it was me , and this is just me , i wouldnt bother with the korda system for starters
  22. That first point you make is very clever dal , about protecting the hookpoint from the lead ? Never occured to me before , probably because i usually have the bottom bead a good 12-18 inches above the lead . I wonder if anybody else does that ? Use the rig foam on the choddy i mean .
  23. I'm sure dal's got a good reason for it adders , it wont be to prevent tangles thats certain . Its a helicopter rig of sorts . Tangles dont happen .
  24. Unless you're fishing over abrasive materials such as gravel bars , rocks etc i cant see the need for rig tubing . Never used tubing or leaders . Never had the need , and leadcore of course , is just dangerous. Nothing is better camoflaged than your mainline .
