  1. Haven't fished it for a year years They have a web site that is fairly updated Have a search around on here, I've posted stuff in the past PM me if you want any details
  2. Use a running rig and boat all the time and can confidentally say I can't recall ever getting a tangled rig, could be the coated braid that helps, as said if you are worried then use a bag or pva nugget to although I'm not sure how these will stop the tangles. Best just experiementing at your lake and see what happens
  3. Have a look at Angling lines, loads of venues which cater for all requirements, not only fishing but also food packages etc, they arrange your travel and tbh my trip this year cost me less booking with them than the venue that I would normally go to, and we got a refund because the exchange rate had got better. Will definately be booking with them next year
  4. The Average diameter for 15lb line is around the 0.35, I've fished France for the past 4 years using either Fox camo (which I'd never use again) which is around 0.38 and then for the pass few year Adrealine which I think is about 0.33. I've never been snapped off. What you need to take into account is the lake, what is the lake bed like, gravel etc, snags, weed beds etc, when you've got that info then you can make a more informed decision. Plus are you needing to cast a fair distance, if so you should be looking for a lower diameter line to help with this The diameter is more important than the BS, as line is over rated, there is a Tackle box review on here somewhere which will give you the true BS of the majority of line.
  5. Tugs Fished Old Oaks this year, fantastic venue. PM me and I'll give you the heads up
  6. What Lake Tugs? Just got back from Le Mans Was looking at Unique before we booked Le Mans, but it was full for the year. Have looked at the website and it seems strange to me that he has closed down because of few comments on a forum, more to it?
  7. Dave Welcome, it would help if you can give a location, there are plenty of people on here willing to help if they know where you are
  8. Probably the same price as Bluebell. What about Willowcroft at Wisbech? sort of half way ish
  9. Just got back yesterday from Old Oaks, we had 51 fish between 4 of us, fish in the lake to 45lb. Nearly half of what we had where 30's, unfortunately no 40's this time
  10. Doesn't look like its open this year http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=45662&highlight=
  11. This may help http://www.leedsdasa.co.uk/html/catterick_complex.html
  12. Going to Old oaks 1st week in May, 10 weeks now, not that I'm counting or anything
  13. If you can't find it let me know and I'll PM you the link
  14. Is that one of the Angling lines venues? If it is then they have set up their own forum, it's only been running a few months but it's starting to pick up members. Each lake has it's only page and the owners of the lakes are involved so you can not only get fedback from people that have fished it, but also from the owners direct. i won't post the link in case it upsets someone, but I'm sure you can find it from their home page
  15. There are a couple of places with Angling lines that maybe worth a look at
  16. Hi There Was looking at the venue, but unfortunatley couldn't get the date I needed. If you give them a call, The owners wife is very helpful as you would expect, I think they also have a forum on there website which ay help you. There are also a couple of videos on youtube, they probably won't help you with tactics but as least give you an idea of the place. It looks like a really nice venue and it's a shame I couldn't get the dates Good luck
  17. There is a scotish carp forum, scottishcarper.co.uk There are a few places around Edinburgh that I've looked at for when I'm working up there but never fished them
  18. Looking at the web site you have to buy the particle there and they cook it for you. So worrying about it now isn't really here or there, just have the cash to get it if you want it. It's always good to fish over a bed of bait so I probably would, but its entirely your decision and one you probably can't make until you get there and find out what has been happening over the past few weeks.
  19. Never fished there, but depending on the weather and time of year I would reckon a couple of kg's a day, you can alway bring bait home with you if you don't use it
  20. You sure mate? Maybe 10kilos Opps ye 10 kilos lol sorry typin error Looks like a nice place to me, not sure about some of the rules away from the lake like the showers and kitchen, surely if you book exclusive it yours to do what you want, within reason
  21. quote]I'm deffo buying the 100kilo for £70 You sure mate? Maybe 10kilos
  22. Great post but lets be honest, if you're organised you can stock up the basics youare going to need before you leave the UK, things like bacon, beans etc. There is a 24 hour Tescos at J10 on the M20, which serves us well as a meeting point, a last minute get bits and a quick stop before we get to Dover. That way we don't have worry about food for the 1st few days
  23. TBH I would take everything that you would normally take for an overnight in the UK The things you need to take more of are clothes, wash bag, bait, PVA and depending on the venue a provision for food for the time if you don't want to leave or enough to get you through until you do, beware we found that in more rural areas the shops don't open on a Sunday, but speak to the owner or baliff and they can give you the local info Make sure you check or change the batteries in everything and take some spares. The only other thing that I take is an old blanket to put over my groundsheet just makes it a bit more comfortable Hope that helps
  24. You talking about Unique or Old Oaks?
  25. Thanks Lads, phoned to book last week and nothing available til Aug I think, booked Old Oaks instead
