  2. Cheers chrisa ive looked at that a couple of times before now. I called the guy who runs luton angling club and asked if he could do me a deal. The standard membership cost for the year is £40 but he said he will do it for 20 for the last few months. Think ill do that and see how i like it down there at beckerings. Ill let you all know how i get on
  3. Im thinking of joining luton angling club...has a lake in steppingly about 5 minutes from my house in flitwick. Beckerings resevoir...Looks good from the photos and its nice and close. Does anyone have any info about it?
  4. Alright mate, welcome to the site If you need any advice or anything you will be sure to get in from the lads on here... ...one bit of advice though, use the search facility to make sure your topic hasnt been brought up before, will save you alot of agro Where in beds are you from?
  5. Is it the great ouze that goes through sharnbrook? Is that what you fish?
  6. Ive only visited once, that was 2 weeks ago and used a £20 voucher, i have another £10 voucher but i can assure you that wont be enough! its huge!
  7. Im in flitwick, beds. Nice to know im not the only one in the area! Over the last week found a few people on the forum from the area. Should start thinking about a meet in bedfordshire area
  8. I Lost one fish in the snags, which was when I let my crust drift to the other side, and I was so excited that it was my first carp that I really didnt think about what I was doing. The two 5lb carp I had since then were hooked on crust close to the bank and in the net within two minute, clear of any snags. What kind of line would I need for this sized fish around the snags?
  9. The small pond I fish at the moment there are many snags! But once I have built my confidence and move to different waters who knows what I will come across! I think my next move will be Tingrith fisheries
  10. Since I started fishing a couple of months ago, all ive done is use maggot on a simple float set up and free lined some crust to catch the carp. I'm thinking of trying a zig rig (as recommended to me on this forum) as this will allow me to cast closer to where the carp are most of the time. What would be the best/lightest main line and hook length to use if I wasnt sure if I was going to hook a 5lb fish or a 20lb fish? Cheers P.S. I only ask these questions to keep everyone on their toes...I actualy already know everything there is to know
